Good night to you as well.

Please be advised, that every single post that you make out here on FR.com, is preserved on unto (presumably) Infinity. I am personally compelled to be aware of that tautological paradigm.

I mention this for my own reasons, even though, I am aware that ignorance is bliss. My son is no longer in that place, but, his brethren are, and it is incumbent upon us all, to support those brave volunteers. This is why, mostly, I post, on FR.com.

If the US is threatened by another country, I say go get 'em. Osama Bin Laden attacked us and we kicked his butt in Afganstan. HE WAS a threat. He attacked us

Wasn't it the Japanese who attacked the United states on December 7th 1941? Then you must surely be opposed to our attack on Hitlers North Africa in 1943 and Europe in 1944. I'm sure you will say it was fine to go after Japan but not Germany and Italy. After all, neither Germany or Italy attacked the United States or killed a single American.

Yet on the basis of Japan's attack we attacked Germany and Italy. Roosevelt and Democratic party of 1941 set the standard Bush is following in Iraq. Japan attacked us... Hitler did not. We attacked both Japan and Germany.

But that was not the first time we went to war with out being attacked. You are totally ignorant of history.

According to your logic, We were not justified in entering World War I or World War II. And according to your logic, we were not justified in starting the Spanish American war. What justification did we have according to to you in taking Cuba and the Phillipines from Spain? Spain never attacked us in any way.

The Democrats tell you we have never done this before and you are so ignorant that you don't even know it is a lie. Your every post proves you know neither logic nor history.

We attacked Saddams Army in 1991 because it had invaded and taken Kuwait and threatened Saudi Arabia. We entered into a truce to end that war based on an agreement between our government and Saddam. That agreement contained the provision that Saddam was to stop production of all weapons of mass destruction. In addition Saddam was to destroy all his weapons of mass destruction and to prove that he had, he was to allow unrestricted inspections of Iraq by the United Nations. The UN was to certify that Saddam had no weapons of Mass destrucn and none were being manufactured. Failure to do so, would result in resumption of the war.

That was the truce agreement that halted the fighting in the Gulf war Saddam violated that agreement.

The united nations passed 10 resoluitions supporting the provisions of the truce agreement that ended the war in 1991 and Saddam never complied.

For 10 long years Saddam refused to allow unfettered inpsections and violated his agreement with us and the UN resolutions in support of that agreement. Durring Bill Clinton's administration Saddam threw the UN inspectors out and Bill did nothing. That, plus the Cole, the first Trade center attack and the destruction of our African embassys convinced the Arab militants that we were a cowardly giant. That cost 3,000 American lives.

When Saddam refused to allow inspections, Bush II enforced the agreement of Gulf War I. That agreement between Saddam and the USA said if Saddam failed to meet the agreements of the peace treaty of 1991, we would resume the Gulf War.

We did so.

That is what happened to Saddam. We did not invade Iraq in 1991 after driving him out of Kuwait. We halted our attack becuase Saddam agreed to get rid of his weapons of mass destruction and allow UN searches to prove it. He did not allow the searches... He got blown away.

Now tell us why an Evil America took down the Kaiser, Hitler, and conquered Cuba and the Phillipines.

Good judgement is the abilty to take all of one's inputs, including compassionate emotions, and making the right decision.

No! It is not. Good judgment is merely the ability to make the right decision in a given circumstance! The decision may be complimentary with emotion, or it may operate in complete opposition to emotional input, regardless of contradictory inputs of emotions which are relative. Judgement is objective. A thing is what it is no matter how you feel about it. Feelings will have no effect on circumstance. In the case of a contemporary leader, as an example, he may 'feel' terrible about putting hundreds of soldiers lives on the line to invade another nation. But, a calculated judgment call based on better intellience than Tom Daschle or Howard Dean and more experience than say, you, forces him to conclude that the safety of the millions, outweigh that of the dedicated few, and that his feelings regarding his own reputation is not nearly as significant as the requisite of moral responsibility and judgment to that effect.

Making the right decision does not necessarily 'feel good'. In fact, more often than not, it is not the case. But, making a difficult decision in opposition to your emotions is one of the most notable qualifiers of character... and leadership.

Emotion is not a virtue. Character is!

It reminds me of the capture of Santa Anna. He was hiding in a well wearing a privates uniform

Rats will hide in holes....and will eventually be dug out. heh heh heh

The press sure is having a field day with it. Amost ALL the morning's newspapers will mention "the rat being caught" or that he was "found in a rat hole" in their front page articles. Although I'll admit to being a little surprised out how this all worked out, I shouldn't be, huh? LOL!!

I'm certainly glad SoDammed's been captured at last. Things aren't over by a long shot, but this was a MAJOR step.

It seems that desires and feelings now dominate volition,...

Yep! That's precisely what's Left. That's why we're Right!

Hidin' in a hole..Spider hole

Ever see "Red Dawn", the movie version that is, not this operation of the same name. :) If you have, you may recall a scene where the young lady "allows" the Ruski tank crew to pilfer her "picnic basket", at the gas station/general store outside of town. The basket blows up inside the tank, and those Ruskies not inside give chase. The Wolverines (hmmm, two of the teams on yesterdays Op were Wolverine 1 and Wolverine 2) pop up out of holes covered with mats to camouflage them and hose down the remaining Ruskies. Those were spider holes. :)

Saddam's version may have literally been a "spider hole", that being why the doc checked his hair so carefully. I understand there are some really nasty arachnids in that part of the world. Most especially that big ugly hairy "spider" they found that hole.

Passion is, no doubt, and endearing quality of Man. Wisdom is much more profound as his virtue.

Anyone have a pack of wild boars handy?

Since boars, wild or otherwise, hardly ever run in packs, being pretty solitary beasts, would a pack of javelina's do? Got lots of those just a few minutes west and or south, or so I'm told.

These, actually , do run in packs. Peccaries usually travel in a band from 6 to 12 although as many as 50 have been seen together.

They're more his speed anyway.

the Iraq press corps cheered Is that what they were doing? I thought it was the start of a riot or something. The contrast between the quiet during the rather deadpan delivery by Gen. Sanchez, and all hell breaking loose when they showed the pictures of Saddam getting his head checked for lice or other "little friends" was to say the least, startling.

Has anyone seen a translation of what they were actually saying? Might have to clean it up a bit to put it on FR, but it would be interesting nonetheless.
