Respectfully, I think Dane was wrong. Suicide is often about far more than "me", as it was in the case of my own family's experience. If someone gives up their life to save their loved ones harm, embarrassment, and pain - however misguided that decision - it is anything but selfish, and it's frustrating to see that word used over and over again to describe someone like my brother.

I've never described your brother in those terms, and because I know the story I never would...

Thank you, Chad - I appreciate that. It was Dane's quote in your post that I was commenting on - and when you referred to his post as "the truth", that got my attention.
