About the Rendlesham Incident
In late December 1980, in Rendlesham Forest, England, numerous U.S. military personnel witnessed what has come to be regarded as the most significant military-UFO incident in the history of Great Britain.
The servicemen were posted to the RAF Bentwaters and RAF Woodbridge facilities which together constitute one of the largest NATO bases in rural Suffolk, East Anglia when, on December 27, they noticed unusual lights and activity near the base's back gate. A trio of security patrolmen led by Jim Penniston, thinking a military aircraft might be down or in distress, ventured into Rendlesham Forest to investigate. There they observed a variety of unearthly phenomena that none of them could explain, as well as an airborne object obscured by its own blinding light.
The next day, December 28, they returned to the forest and found three radioactive depressions in the ground where the object had been sighted. That night, other witnesses in surrounding areas saw an intense red light pulsating and moving through the trees.
Soon afterward, several of the men involved, including Airman Larry Warren, were debriefed by U.S. and British officers and ordered to sign documents contradicting their firsthand accounts. Furthermore, they were told to remain silent and were warned by U.S. military intelligence personnel that, if they didn't, "Bullets are cheap."
Two weeks after these incidents, Lt. Colonel Charles Halt (who retired years later following his promotion to colonel) wrote a memo detailing everything that the patrolmen had seen and sent the document to his superiors at the Pentagon and the most comprehensive cover-up in the history of Britain began.
But the truth has refused to remain hidden. In December 2002, the British Ministry of Defense released a file on the Rendlesham incident that comprised 180 pages of previously classified memos, letters, reports and correspondence. But despite the British government's admission that a UFO-related incident took place near the Bentwaters and Woodbridge airfields in 1980, the U.S. government still refuses to release its own files about the encounter.
Now SCI FI brings you this shocking exposé, complete with documentation, new physical evidence and firsthand accounts by both military and civilian witnesses including Penniston and Halt, who have jeopardized their reputations and military pensions in order to seek out the truth. Join host Bryant Gumbel as SCI FI presents its exclusive investigation of one of the most important UFO incidents of the 20th century.

The OSI is secretive and does mysterious things.
But it's a very experienced and well known org with a wide diversity of methods uncommon to normal police and investigative work.
It's understandable that you don't know that. One might suggest humility when in possession of significant ignorance of a topic.

I've known for a long time that there was likely more than one landing site in this situation. This is not that much new information. It wasn't made a big deal of before. But it has been in the literature for a long time per witness reports.
Your skepticism still seems to be in charge of your logic.

You are simply wrong on a number of points of fact.
I gather you have not read the record to any significant degree.

For sure.
And he wasn't the only one seeing it more or less up close and personal, as I recall.

Yet your uh, ..."logic," tells you that little alien men in an interplanetary spacecraft landed in the woods that night.

Uhhhhh, hello . . . ?
It doesNOT matter whether it was the light ship or the light house.
He could clearly see a craft in the air which clearly did not fit either the lighthouse or the light ship.
I can imagine you reporting an incident and many of us not believing you because of your . . . logic or manner or some such.
This is not the case with my reading of these witnesses.

So do the same experiment then. Play the tape and time the observations. You will find the period to be precisely the same as the rotation of the Orfordness lighthouse. The Shipwash lightship beacon flashed at a faster rate still.

I think this was an authentic ET UFO. What are your main arguments to support this assertion?

Welllllll, if you believe he was lying,
I think you have not interviewed many people
and/or
you are so skeptical that it wouldn't matter how accurate your personality etc. assessment skills were.
I found him exceedingly believable. I found it highly unlikely he was even consciously or unconsciously distorting things very significantly and far to ridiculous that he would be lying.

Raht.
Triangular 3 point indentations in the soil would clearly have NOTHING to do with a triangular craft.
/sarcasm.

Not at all convincingly to me.

Thanks.
Just too many puzzle pieces in that direction.
1) Their usual tendency to dink around with, probe, even disable nuclear weapons seems to be repeated in this case.

I don't doubt that they saw something, and they realize the credibility they are putting on the line in coming forward.
It would take a very profound event to coax someone out of their comfort zone into the spotlight of world opinion. Some think it was an ET event, others think it's some secret aircraft of our own, and other's think it's a visit from residents of our own future that have traveled back in time.
In the bible Daniel records such events as being a result of the "watchers" and the "ancient ones". Rather than being ET's the bible refers to them as super natural immortals from another dimension, perhaps a spiritual dimension. I think I can buy that easier than them being from another planet. No matter how fast the craft, it would take many lifetimes to travel here from another planet.
To: Quix
He could clearly see a craft in the air which clearly did not fit either the lighthouse or the light ship. That's where you are mistaken. It DID fit the lighthouse. He thought he was seeing both the UFO and the lighthouse. But the directions he gave match up with the lightship being at the location he thought was the lighthouse and the lighthouse being at the location he thought was the UFO. He thought he was seeing the UFO and the lighthouse, but he was actually seeing the lightship and the lighthouse. Like I said, the lightship was not always lit and he was not familiar with it.

That the lighthouse theory is a
shallow, transparent, obvious
pile of horse manure
several times bigger than the UFO(s) involved.

Back away all you wish.
You will have to deal with the reality in your lifetime. And it is not likely to be smooth or pretty though it may be billed that way depending on how the puppet masters feel they can best play it to their best advantage.
I suppose I could apologize for getting so weary of folks who are clearly little read in the extensive literature of the last 50 years.
And I suppose I can't blame you for not having had close relatives or friends involved with such craft and programs.
But your dogmatic, religious skepticism still rather annoys me and somewhat still surprises me.
