Well stated. We are becoming a very selfish society. A lot of this can be put at the feet of the baby boomers. Their parents risked all, while many of them only cared about the individual, which was a mantra passed on to their children. As a gen-x'er with a traditional family (a wife and two amazing children), I find my values to be more in line with the WWII generation than my parents generation. More focus on the important things, ie God and family, and less focus on materialism.
I believe humanity is about giving of one's self. As people continue to live alone, all they need to care for is numero uno, which will eventually be the total demise of our culture. This is why so many "older" who have children later in life have a difficult time adjusting to parenthood, because having children calls for selflessness.

"Once a man is tamed, women become bored. In my experience, if you are nice to women, they will leave you, and if you treat them with reckless disdain, they will cling."
Exactly. You hit the nail right on the head.

I have YET to see ONE female member of this forum EVER say that the divorce laws in this country are unfair. I've said it numerous times. Maybe I didn't always use the term FAIR, but I have repeatedly stated I don't think they are right.

Typical typical typical Obviously you haven't read any of my previous postings. So I will repeat the gist of them.......
No one should try to destroy another's life in or out of divorce court.
I have said along these laws that allow it are not right.
So I would call your response to me typical of a man with a bad attitude.
My ex wanted spousal support from me (In Delaware either spouse can pay it, it's based on who has a higher income). Fortunately even his lawyer laughed about it. Why did his lawyer do that - because I wanted NOTHING but out. Thankfully there were no children involved.
But I know lots of stories of women (many I know) who have been just as badly screwed by the sytem as you claim of omen.
Men are not the only victims in divorce court.

The laws of the people's Republic of Washington need to be changed.
That is more than just simple fraud - that is theft, not just on the part of the woman - but by the state.

If I get married, I want it to be for the long haul. I want to be equally yoked as a Christian and I want a "manly-man," not one of those whiny metrosexuals.Did I mention that I'm still (tragically) single? :D

My husband and I actually used to find those quizzes to be very humorous and enjoyed taking them and tearing apart the idiots who write them and then think they can psychoanalyze everyone on the planet.
Simple pleasures are where you choose to find them.
Now we have more fun making fun of liberals!!!!!!

I have, unfortunately, been married and divorced twice. The first time, I asked for nothing except minimal child support for our two children. I did not have an attorney, but his attorney reminded me that I was entitled to part of his 401K. I refused.
My second husband left me nothing but a bunch of bills he refused to help pay, and bad memories of his infidelity and abuse.
Not all women are out for what they can get.

I'm happily married, but must say that if I wasn't and was looking, your attitude would cause me to run, not walk, in the opposite direction...regardless of your looks or wallet.

On The Marriage Strike thread, I proposed that all the gals start a thread and post their marriage/divorce horror stories. Since we have all these threads about the men's stores, I thought it would be interesting to see other other side of the story.

Some of the single guys here should take notice that there are some single, self reliant women here that might appreciate a good man... Consider it noticed. :)

Specifically - like the rest of the misogynists on this thread you've bought into the garbage that all women believe the feminazi garbage that all men are low lifes and women should get everything they can out of them.
and that's just for starters.

I knew most of the gals on this thread would get annoyingly defensive. Always happens.

Married regular sex, you mean once a year :)
To: Texan5
I think it is pure selfishness, brought on by listening to the feminazis all these years preaching that women need to be fulfilled, find themselves, do what they want to do, etc. The end result is that they just walk over their man and kids to find their own private Nirvana. They've started believing this bulls*** like it was gospel truth... You just described my ex :) ... and I have my 4 year old son with me ... :)

Preach it brother!!!!
Exactly right. A tamed man is like a completed project to women.
