Well, your points are well taken. It's a Republican gold mine all right. which is good. I have no quarrels about that, but it runs contrary to what our first amendment which clearly says Congress shall make now abridging the freedom of speech.
I'm afriad this is going to end up blowing in our faces in terms of ramifications.
Let's see what Rush has to say about this. He comes on at noon on WBAP.

. I, for one, will never again vote for George Bush. You probably never did in the first place. If one issue turns you into a Democrat, my guess is you were "born that way." LOL.
To: NittanyLion
If you are saying that I made the case WHY he signed it, then I won't argue with that.
But I never, ever said he SHOULD have signed it.
To say different than that is dishonest on your part.

I plan on anonymous pamphleting and postering prior to the election. These will be virulant "hate speech" against every candidate I dislike. I will sign them "Tom Paine" I think. Lets see the commies get their nickers in knot about that. I am all ready designing my Dean & Dixie posters for our black neighborhoods.

Many here are calling it the Peckerwood Law.

Pinging you as I have a fear now.
How long until a liberal left wing nut sues FR and shuts us down 60 days before the election for "promoting" candidates and "hate speech" against Democrats and other left wingers in general. I have a distinct fear that it is coming down the tracks like an out of control freight train.

Why on earth would you sit out the next election. I keep hearing "throw the bums out" but people forget that almost ALL the republicans, with the exception of McCain and a few other idiots, voted AGAINST this law and ALL the democrats voted FOR it. So the only bums who should be thrown out is the dems. If you punish the republicans who stood up for us, why would you ever expect them to stand up for us again?
Could someone point us to somewhere where we can find out which Republicans voted for it (in both houses.)

Us BUSHBOTS just won a serious victory over Soros and his Commie ilk. The Hollywood elite will have to expose themselves even more for the public to see them for who they truely are. This is a good thing!

Well, I don't know about that. The RATS did have a hand in this after all.
Some group is going to end up suffering because of this. It'll either be us (christians and conservatives) or it'll be then.
My gut tells me it'll be us who ends up suffering.

Apparently you are unfamiliar with the meaning of "socialism." There are many good sources to help with your misunderstanding.

Refer to my post above (646). Think about what we may lose in this victory. There has never been a specific exclusion for talk radio or the internet. We can be shut down possibly.

"Of course not, but we still have 3 major venues... FOX News, talk radio, and Bush and his bully pulpit. This will more than neutralize the Dims IMO."
Unfortunately most people who get their news do not have cable and still rely on the BIG THREE, or one of the many print media for their news. And Rush still only has 20 million listeners and not 200 million. Getting the word out is going to essentially be by word of mouth. Be prepared for opinion blitzes by the big newspapers 60 days prior to an election. I guarentee that NY Times, LA Times will support the Dem Presidential candidate...

There's a lot of libertarians and liberals here today.I am neither a libertarian nor a liberal however as long as we are assigning names anybody who makes a statement like this: " This is now the law. They'd better get used to it." can, IMHO, be accurately labeled a marxist.

My gut tells me it'll be us who ends up suffering. My guess is the opposite. "It's the (political) money, honey."
To: js1138
I believe the ads run recently by the Republicans, including the one on the Bush website, are testing the means to work around this law. In 2004, the issues will be so clear that there will be no need to mention names. Do you mean the one where they said "Some People" .. which made the Dems go ape over .. even though their names were never mentioned???

This law will not assist in that horror being realized and, in fact, will probably hurt the RATS more than the patriots It hurts the Constitution and supporters of freedom most of all.
And the biggest beneficiaries are the Washington insiders
