Look up at the top of the pic. You can see the north Grand Island Bridge.
Just before it on the left side of the pic you see a group of lights, those are the intakes.
Over to the right is Grand Island, that is where I live.

Lucky you, I adore Niagara Falls :-)
I grew up in Rochester, NY and have probably been to the Falls about 50 times.... my great-aunt lived there until a few years ago.
Wave hello to the Maid of the Mist for me until I get back again :-)

I put niagra, qaida and canada into a google search and came up with a terrorism vulnerability? site, but it has niagras peace bridge as a vulnerable at all times place.
Sites, primarily of economic significance, that are vulnerable at all times include:
Nuclear and intelligence facilities at Chalk River (Ontario).
Peace Bridge in Niagra Falls (Ontario).
Ambassador Bridge connecting Windsor (Ontario) and Detroit (US).
Syncrude production facility in Fort McMurray (Alberta).
Nuclear facility at Point Lepreau (British Columbia).
Nuclear facility at Pickering (Ontario).
Special risks Counter Terrorism

If anyone could annotate the large version of the PIC with text it would be interesting to me, never having been there. I.E. Canadian part, American, development in foreground, bridges, etc.
