A naked maniac hacked his wife to death with a sword in their Bronx apartment yesterday and then lunged at cops howling, "I'm God, kill me!" before an officer shot him and accidentally hit her own partner, too, police said.

The cop shot 14 times at point blank range, hitting the perp in the legs, and hitting her own partner in the chest and legs.

This officer is incompetent. Time for her to go back to being a meter maid.

Well, Madera County has one better. A Woman cop shot a man in the stomach when he was handcuffed, sitting in the back of a patrol car. She thought she had her stun gun in her hand.

I'm still trying to figure out if she hit the arresting officer. Since the bullet appears to have missed the perp behind his head where the other cop's leg was. Looks like he felt something. Was there a story accompanying this clip?

I'm sorry but I agree with Servant of The 9 here, this looks like a panicked response from this officer, and as such she was incompetent. You don't need to fire 14 shots at close quarters to take down a perp (and only hit him in the leg).

If you can't keep your cool in a situation like that you shouldn't be on the front lines of police work or any other such line of work, you are a danger to yourself and your fellow officers.

However, we'll have to wait for the full story to make a final judgment on the matter.

It's hard to tell with the quality of the clip the way it is, but from the discharge and the angle, it looks like she hit the pavement just off of the perp's shoulder - I've freeze-framed it a couple of times, and it looks like she missed him by maybe an inch. Anyway, even if the ricochet didn't hit the other officer, he probably got hit by dirt and concrete chips from the impact of the bullet - his face was only two feet or so from the impact. The perp was lucky enough to be mostly looking the other way ;)

Somebody needs to tell Officer Friendly here that “spray and pray” is not how you take down a perp. Cashier her ass out of the force and replace her with someone who can handle a firearm.

Was there a story accompanying this clip?

I picked up that video on a handgun forum and there was no accompanying story with it. Someone did write they were aware of the story and said the arresting officer was slightly injured by flying pieces of pavement.

OK...I'll buy that. BUT, in the face of varying levels of evil that police officers face everday; not to mention putting themselves in life-death situations in their line of work, I believe a rush to judgement of LEO's is often inappropriate. I mean come on, the environment the officer was thrown into reads more like a scene from the Exorcist.

14 shots, bagging her partner and the perp. Where would be a safe place to stand when this lady opens up with her pistol? Or in the words of George Carlin- "How do you make a noise that's not like a rabbit" (referring to a program to take blind people rabbit hunting).

Sounds like this officer hosed the place down pretty good.
