Probably because the gentleman is an Orthodox Jew. Out of reverence for the Almighty, they do not spell out the entire name of God, as to do so would be blasphemous. (Remember the prohibition in Biblical times on saying the name "Jehovah" or "Yahweh" out loud?)
Someone please feel free to correct me if I've got anything wrong above. I am working from memory.

I can't presume to even know, speak or write such a primal name. The letter omission shows respect and the realization of my own ignorance in writing.
What I do know for sure is I don't know it all. I just act that way sometimes.
