Yes. When I worked in Miami (banking), my coworkers (who were from all over Latin America) were whiter and blonder than many "white" Americans. The fact that they're thrown in with Mexican laborers never ceased to amuse me and never ceased to irritate them.

"Hispanic" is a totally bogus liberal invention. And outside of job and college applications, "hispaics" never use the term! They use "Latino" which refers to language, music, culture etc. At least this term has some validity.
