When Rush called Clinton a "Sex Addict" yesterday and faulted him for it, I turned him off. I'll try again in a month to see if he's become more based. I'm not counting on it.......

I can speak to this with some experience.
I experienced a little incident in Vietnam that put me in the hospital for 14 months and eleven surgeries. During this time they ( the medical staff) saw fit to give us guys in a lot of plaster SECONOL (sp) around 10pm each night. I had no idea what SECONOL was nor what it did. I only knew I was getting some sleep at night.
This continued all through the 14 months and upon discharge was given a prescription for additional SECONOL, upon leaving the dispensary I had a jar of red pills the size of a mayonnaise jar.
I continued to use this drug, except I wasn’t taking one each night, by now I was taking 4-5 a day, and not even thinking about nodding off.
This continued through about an additional 6 months till a new doctor refused to write a new script......I replaced the Reds with Vodka.....It was a very low time in my life.
I realized what was happening to me a attempted to straighten myself out, I had many ups and downs and it wasn’t till I met a wonderful gal who is my current wife did I have the caring and support to kick it altogether.
That was 35 years ago.
I had no intentions of getting hooked on boose and pills, it just happened.
I have walked in those moccasins, so I’m not going to rush to judgment on Rush .

So what's the connection between hating liberals 15 hours a week, and drugs? I'd need to be on drugs to not hate liberals 80 hours a week.

That said, Rush needs his cumupance as my grandmother would say.

Paging Tony Snow.........

What a nut. Rush didn't "forge" anything. In fact, he's probably less guilty than your typical marijuana buyer, as oxycontin is legal.

How many people buy marijuana in this country?? Law enforcement typically focuses on sellers, not buyers.

Hypocricy is not a crime, and "deserves" got nothing to do with it.

I can't stand Rush Limbaugh, who I consider little more than a clown. And I'm a conservative despite his ditto-brained discourse.

But that doesn't make me want to incarcerate his drug-addled ass.

It's the same with the money laundering charge that surfaced a few weeks ago. The liberal media tried to paint Rush's withdrawl of his own legally earned money from his own bank account as "laundering' because he withdrew it in amounts just below the $10,000 threshold where it would have to be reported to the feds. Hey what ever happened to privacy?

Rush sounds no different now than he did before detox, when he was high as a kite most of the time.

I'm pretty sure Rush made it clear that he only used drugs when he was alone. He said he didn't want to share the high with anybody.

A couple of interesting things I found about oxycontin; apparently this is a prescription drug that is very controversial:

OxyContin addiction has come to the attention of drug abuse watchdog groups nationwide as OxyContin addiction has increased many times over in recent years. OxyContin addiction is a new phenomenon in that OxyContin was approved by the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) only 7 years ago in 1995. OxyContin addiction is as severe as heroin addiction because they are both derived from opium… the manufacturer has been criticised for not properly informing doctors and patients of the high potential of OxyContin addiction. Thousands of prescriptions are handed out every year and abuse, crime and fatal overdoses have since all been linked to OxyContin addiction. Though formulated as a 12 hour time release pill, OxyContin addiction becomes more likely as individuals abuse the drug.

http://www.csdp.org/news/news/oxycontin.htm

Attorneys in a suit against Purdue Pharma, manufacturer of OxyContin, have withdrawn their motion to have dozens of federal suits against Purdue consolidated and heard through multidistrict litigation. The Roanoke Times reported on June 27, 2003. …The lawsuits accuse Purdue Pharma, a Connecticut company that makes OxyContin, of overpromoting the prescription painkiller while playing down its addictive side.

As soon as they prosecute Rush, John Ashcroft can go after all the liberals on cocaine in Hollywood and the music business and Academia and (dare we say it?) politics. We won't need Rush because the ranks of liberal 'leadership' will be decimated.

"Rush poses as a role model for young conservatives. What sort of example has he set?"

Well Lets compare, shall we?

To whom you might ask? Well why not the Supreme liberal icon himself; Bill Clinton?

Rush has,
1.Worked his way up the ladder in the Radio industry, without the help of big government.
2.Single handedly challenged the big media in America, and caused the Nation to give serious consideration to how politics work in America.
3.Demonstrated the Hipocracy of the Main Street Media, and the Democratic party.
4. Raised pubic awareness to all the above, and challenged his listeners to think critically about the motives and actions of all politicians.
5. He single handedly changed the landscape of the conservative movement in this country (for the better) and changed the minds millions of Americans.
In short, he has by himself, done more for the cause of conservatism in America since,....well I don't know who, and become a very wealthy man in the process!

Bill Clinton has,
1. Been a draft dodger
2. Smoked pot, but never inhaled.
3. Elected Govenor and, did little of anything posotive for the state of Arkansas, but had a really good time as a party animal, while racking up all kinds of scummy allegations for improper and lewd sexual behavior, INCLUDING RAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
4. Elected president while allegations of his sleezy life were being exposed to the voters, who were too busy buying into to his false promises.
4. Had elicted Sex acts preformed on him in the oval office of "OUR" White House, and lied about it under oath!
5. Lied about his indiscresions to th eAmerican peoople and the congress and Faced Impeachment because of it.
6. And is directly responsible for the events of 911 because his administration was too busy making people feel good and didn't have the back bone to stop Osama when he had the chance!
7. Given the Chinese all the technology they needed to launch balistic nuclear misiles against our country.
And this list is not even a complete compilation of all the meaningless and taudry acts of this man.

So back to the original question,"What sort of example has he set?"
In light of the facts listed in the comparison, I 'd say, He's been a damn good one!

The article is bogus, the conveniently left out that Noel Bush has no record because she went to treatment. They also fail to mention that all first time offenders get the same drug court option.

It is only Rush limbaugh, who when not caught red handed, gets extra special scrutiny and attention to deny him the same access.

Rush Limbaugh is back from five weeks in detox doing business at the same old stand: spewing bile and defaming liberals and Democrats 15 hours a week.

This statement clearly shows this writer cares nothing about the laws. He just wants to see Rush punished because he defames the filthy leftists he loves so much.
