President Bush's Baghdad turkey was for looking, not for eating.
In the most widely published image from his Thanksgiving day trip to Baghdad, the beaming president is wearing an Army workout jacket and surrounded by soldiers as he cradles a huge platter laden with a golden-brown turkey.

"Turkeygate"!!
Yeh...the dems would gobble that up.
To: Kaslin
Nevertheless, the foray has opened new credibility questions for a White House that has dealt with issues as small as who placed the "Mission Accomplished" banner I think the "new credibility questions" really deals with the Media who make up false allegations to report in such a high dudgeon against President Bush.
In an honest world, these people would be laughed into oblivion.

I'm sure Juan Williams will complain this Sunday on FNS about how this story "PROVES that the whole trip was nothing but an expensive taxpayer-funded photo op!"
Of course, that's if Terry McAuliffe gives him permission...

I don't think he was trying to serve it. He was just acting like it, maybe even just goofing off for the cameras or for the guys/gals. If you paid any attention to the whole tape, he served from the chow line.

Dittos. This turkey thing, on top of the 6 year-old kid that was
actually 7 years old !!!! Sheesh.
I've held my nose far too long with this Bush crowd....I can only take sooooo much...I feel like Tiny Tommmy Dashole; deeply saddened.
Seriously, what do you think the rest of America thinks of the WAPost for giving this story even one column inch? I agree with earlier post on this thread...it shouts media bias in spades.

OK, the picture was fine. Was there audio? I can see "W" picking up the platter and joking with it knowing that it was the center piece. "W" has a sence of humor and he appears to been having some "honest" fun with the troops. Libs like to take the photos and subtitle them with a slant in their favor even though the comments do not truly reflect what occured. "Mission Accomplished" was the carrier's banner not the Presidents. Any naval ship arriving in port with their assigmnent completed would have arrived with the same type of banner. Its a big Hulabaloo over nothing. If they pick on trivial things it means they have nothing else to help their cause. We here who have higher than double digit IQs can see through that.
