SAN FRANCISCO (AP) -- On paper, the job of San Francisco mayor is nonpartisan.
In practice, it has been more than four decades since voters elected anyone other than a Democrat to run the city, where the political spectrum seems to run from left-of-center to liberaler-than-thou.

Memo to Gav: your "last bastion" is NOT Northern California.
It's the Bay Area. The rest of Northern California would be more than happy to dump your city into the Pacific Ocean.
On the plus side, every Freeper in SF should vote for Gavin- he's actually willing to cut benefits to the homeless and finally do something about those human rats (NOT 'rats) that infest the city.

I know that.
I used to live there, before moving to Santa Monica (Berkeley South).
Actually, in one of those "small world!" things, one of my friends was Gonzalez's roommate at Columbia. Said he used to be relatively conservative (for a college student in that time and place). Pity, really.

Given that and the fact that he switched parties, it seems he's just power-hungry.

Does anybody know what kind of therapy I should get into, to help me learn to stop wanting Commufornia to just go ahead and elect a solid contingent of fruitcakes to every Government orifice in the State, so I can watch it go into a final death spiral?
I mean, I *know* I'm supposed to hope for the best, and wish for positive change... but I couldn't help wanting Bustamecha to get elected, and now here I am wishing San Fagdisco would go right ahead and elect this Greenie/Commie/Fruitie whatever thing so I can watch it commit every manner of degenerate hilarities appropriate to the region...
I need help!!!

The Mayoral race is probably the only thing that is "tight" in that entire cesspool.
