Actually, the poll numbers went up because the news media was forced to give the public an unfiltered view of the president for the first time in MANY months!

Not only is a point or two drop in Bush's approval headline news, but the leftstream media pronounce it's a sign of Bush's doom, and hammer away at it for at least a week. Let's see if Chris Matthews mentions this 61% approval figure anytime soon.
