FELLOW PRAYER WARRIOR AND HER FAMILY NEEDS PRAYER!!

On Christmas Day, Chong informed me that her family learned that her nephew was injured with a flesh wound to the arm in Iraq. While this is certainly disquieting news, the real wound was made when he had to witness the death of his best friend who was beside him in their Humvee. Please join us in prayer for this fine young man, our fellow freeper Chong, and their family.

BLESSED HEAVENLY FATHER,

Today, on the day of birth of our Resurrected Lord, we learn of the loss of C____'s best friend in combat. Father, we ask that you will help that young man on his journey Home. Place him in a beautiful corner of your Kingdom especially made for him. Father, we ask that you will convey directly to his heart the loss we feel for no longer having him among us. Tell him how much we appreciate his sacrifice. Tell him we vow to honor his service and never forget. We ask that you will furthermore grant us the ability, knowledge, and determination to completely fulfill that vow.

Father, the young man you have called Home has left so many grieving buddies and family members. We ask that you will help them at this time. Surround those family members and buddies with your love and our prayers. Help them and heal them through the difficult journey they have before them known as mourning. We ask that you will send a special message to the hearts of all the loved ones he left behind, the gratitude that we do feel for the sacrifice of their greatest treasure. Let each of them have a very special Christmas gift of love, healing, and communion directly from your heart which is meaningful and empowering to them.

Father, we place our C____ before your Throne of grace. Heal the wounds he suffered in his body. Heal his mind, heart, and spirit of the desolation which war brings to those who are required to press on despite losses and intense burden. Father, surround C____ and all his buddies a very special spiritual armor of invincibility, invisibility and invulnerability to any and all dark forces or powers arrayed against them.

This young man offered his life up for his friends. There is no greater love than this. It is incumbent upon us to review our own lives and to make sure we are worthy of the gift. Our Lord has told us that we were bought with a price. In addition to His great gift of salvation, we find that in each generation of a free people, our freedoms and even our lives are purchased by the blood of those who place themselves between their loved homes and the war's desolation.

We ponder the words of William Stephenson*

"Dear Lord,
Lest I continue
My complacent way
Help me remember
Somewhere out there
A man died for me today
--As long as there be war
I then must
Ask and answer
Am I worth dying for?"

We ask, blessed Father, for faith, courage, strength, and the determination to live our lives to the fullest so that these who have left their bodies on the field of battle will be glad of the price they paid when in the fullness of time there is a reunion on the Other Side.

We ask that you will take our prayers Father, and multiply them and direct them to all who are grieving this day. Let our prayers be adjusted according to thy Will. Let the entire earth be filled with your Light, for we affirm this day, that despite the darkness, the earth IS the Lord's and fulness thereof!

AMEN

Dear Lord, we pray for Chong, injured in battle, and ask for his full recovery. As well, Lord, we ask that Chong make peace with his friend's death. Godspeed to all our soldiers.

Prayers up for Chong's nephew that he heals both physically and in his heart. Often those invisable wounds are the hardest to heal. Bless him...
