"We are witnessing the possible court martial of an officer who was able to obtain solid information WITHOUT TORTURE of an attack on his men, thereby saving many lives."

We sure have heard a lot about this case in the media. Bad officer, shouldn't do that.

What we haven't heard anything about is what has happened to the A-hole who threw a gernade into a tent of his own men. What's up with that?

Thank you for coming by the Troop Prayer Thread, fightu4it. I can tell from your passionate remarks that you love our troops deeply.

I am the very first to acknowledge that I am subject to praying in error. Any legal decision can provide food for debate, even after the findings and judicial decisions are in. I can understand the point you made that Col West shouldnt have done what he did, but at this time I am not totally persuaded that Col West should have completely lost his career.

I made a deal with my Lord many years ago that I would talk to Him and pray to Him according to the perspective I hold, but always at the end of my prayer I would put it in His hands and I would surrender my stance to Him if my point of view is limited and incorrect. I try to follow the example of Jesus in Gethsemane where He prays that the cup be taken from Him, but nevertheless, Thy Will not my will be done. That includes the situation with Col. West. I, in my lesser limited perspective wanted him to stay in the Army, and I prayed for that to happen. The Lord saw fit to move him out of the Army. I surrender to His Will, and just pray now that Col West will have a fulfilling life from now on. I truly believe that even if I grant that his action may not have been proper, that it was done with good motive. Nevertheless, the ends do not justify the means, and with so many people praying about the situation, I firmly believe that only God's Will was done in the matter. I do pray that He shall overshadow the life of Col West from now on and guide him in the paths of righteousness.

Good question. I wish I knew. Thanks for the prompting. I offer the following hoping that the Lord will bring us news and Justice in that situation.

Please come by again, fightu4it.

BELOVED HEAVENLY FATHER,

We place before you the record of the incident whereby a person wearing our nation's uniform turned against his brother soldiers and killed them in the name of our enemies with a grenade. Father, we see this as a point of injustice and we call upon you to place your All Seeing Eye on the situation and bring to us news of the matter. We call upon you in the strongest way possible to ask you to intercede in the whole situation and mete out true Justice. We place it entirely in your hands, and we pray for the shattering of all opposition to your divine Will.

Thank you, Father, for hearing us this day on this matter. We ask that you will adjust our prayer to make it perfectly aligned with your divine Purpose and multiply it so that Justice may reign in any and all similar situations.

Amen
