Blessed Father,

Surround Karen and all our troops who are traveling in the next several days. Let bands from St Michael the Archangel be dispatched to clear the way, to surround each conveyance, and to protect each one while they travel.

We are grateful that there are some families who do have the opportunity to see their young hero at Christmas time. We call for the blessing of these families, for in truth, they are our own. We call for the comforting and the special gift of closeness despite many miles' distance for those families who are not able to be together. Grant them a special blessing, for these families are our own as well.

We call forth a very special blessing for our troops and their families who practice the Jewish faith during this time of Hanukah. These are also our own families.

Father, take our prayers and multiply the love we have in our hearts for our young heroes in the places across the planet where they have been posted. Let them know of a certainty that we love them and care for them and honor them and their service.

I've been out all day and was news deprived. I think we need to pray about this terrorist alert. I'm not really frightened, mostly because of where I live but I feel powerless over this evil and I think God is the only one with the power to handle it.

I'm not very eloquent so I'll leave it up to you to come up with a beautiful prayer that I can agree with :-}
