Thanks for your prayers and thoughts.

Mostly I'm exhausted now. Very little pain, some swelling still from the surgery.

I managed to get a small care package out to a deployed Airforce staff sergeant on the 31st, and that's about all I've done since Christmas. He's a buddy of the brother of my pastor, and the major was kind enough to get me an APO after I met him when he stood godfather to his new nephew, so I wanted to respond quickly.

Mostly all I'm doing lately is reading Alistair MacLean and Michael Crichton and saying short daily prayers lately.

Thanks again to all for their good wishes. I should be back to "normal" in another few weeks.

Eric sent a box home with some clothes and a bunch of his letters in it. While I was sorting them and putting them in a better box, I came across one from you, and was once again overwhelmed with your kindness to my little boy!

Copernicus has notified us that Captain David Tyner, one of the founding officers of Strategic Air Command, has taken a turn for the BETTER following the recent call for prayers on his behalf here on the Forum!

In post 328 of this thread, we responded with other FReepers with our prayers for this hero. Here is the current status of Captain Tyner:

Truly this is an Age of Miracles.

Captain Tyner spent nearly two weeks engaged in multiple ferocious
battles with the flu and complications from the flu followed by complications from
medical side effects, any of which would have felled a lesser man.

He has been released from Intensive Care and recuperates in a Convalescent
Care Facility.

The best wishes and prayers of all have been received with gratitude.

Prayer warriors needed to help comfort our ohioWfan, as she waits for word of her Soldier Eric, w/ the 541st Maintenance Battalion, his base hit by mortar fire... west of Baghdad. 35 of our Soldiers are wounded that we know. Families are waiting for word. Please pray for our ohioWfan, Eric, our wounded Soldiers and their families.
