Timeline of 10 shootings on highway around Columbus Associated Press
Authorities are investigating 10 shootings on or around a southern section of Interstate 270, which circles Columbus. Reports of 11 shootings in the area have been gathered by several law enforcement agencies, but investigators would not confirm which of the following reports theyre looking at:
May 10: A 37-year-old woman runs out of gas around 4 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-270 east of I-71. After walking for help, she returns to find the cars windshield shot out and the hood damaged.
Oct. 7: A 42-year-old Columbus woman, taking her daughter to the doctor, reports that a gunshot struck her windshield about 4 p.m. as she pulled onto I-71 from state Route 104, about two miles north of I-270.
Oct. 10: A woman driving north on U.S. 23 north of I-270 had a flat tire. She didnt know the tire had been shot until she took the flat to be repaired.
Incident reported at state Route 62 and Alkire Road, details not available.
Oct. 11: A 36-year-old man was driving about noon along I-270 when a bullet struck the rear side panel of his Nissan Sentra and exited through the rear window, shattering it.
Oct. 19: Truck driver William Briggs, 56, of Hilliard, turned north onto westbound I-270 off of U.S. 23 at about 11:30 p.m. and had driven about a mile when the drivers side window exploded.
Nov. 17: A United Parcel Service truck was eastbound on I-270 around 11 a.m. between Parsons Avenue and U.S. 23 when the driver reported hearing a noise. A bullet hole was found in the door behind the drivers seat.
Nov. 18: A woman is driving a Ford Explorer around 9:30 p.m. on U.S. 23, north of Rathmell Road when a bullet strikes the drivers side door.
Nov. 21: Edward Cable, 53, a retired prison guard from Lucasville, reports bullet fired into his minivan about 7:40 p.m. on U.S. 23 south of Rathmell, 1.5 miles from I-270.
Nov. 25: Gail Knisley, 62, of Washington Court House, is killed on I-270 about 10 a.m. when a bullet rips through the drivers door of the Pontiac Grand Am driven by a friend.
Hours later, a man from Pickaway County, just south of Columbus, reports his GMC Jimmy was struck by gunfire.

They might be consulting Moose although I haven't heard news reports saying that. The feds probably use the same guys to investigate similar crimes (sniper shootings in DC, Charleston, and now Columbus). I hope so anyway. The more knowledge/experience they have, the better.

The blood of the woman killed is on the hands of LE here...this entire city was placed in harms way all because as they were collecting bullets from the vehicles, they were filing "property damage" reports and so nobody was aware they were in danger. Now it has come to our attention that there is probably a Coke can or bottle out there containing a bullet. Last Tuesday a Coco-Cola driver was shot at while making deliveries and the bullet has not been recovered.

Law-enforcement officials think 12 shootings on or near I-270 in southern Franklin County are linked. Four of them - including the slaying of a woman on Nov. 25 - are from the same gun, they say.
May 10: A 37-year-old woman driving a Chevrolet Cavalier ran out of gas around 4 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-270 east of I-71. After she and her two friends walked to get help, they returned to find the car's windshield shot out and the hood damaged.
May 10, 4 a.m.: Windshield and hood of car that had run out of gas
Oct. 10, 12:15 p.m.: Left rear tire of car
Oct. 11, noon: Bullet entered rear side panel, exited through left rear window
Oct. 19, 11 p.m.: Driver's window of Yellow Freight tractor-trailer
Nov. 11, 1:35 a.m.: Window at Hamilton Central Elementary
Nov. 17, 11 a.m.: Door behind driver's seat of United Parcel Service truck
Nov. 18, 9:26 p.m.: Driver's-side door of sport-utility vehicle
Nov. 21, 7:40 p.m.: Passenger window of van
Nov. 25, 10 a.m.: Bullet entered driver's-side door, crossed cabin and hit passenger Gail Knisley, 62, killing her
Nov. 25, 2 p.m.: Left rear side of sport-utility vehicle
These incidents are not marked because the specific location is unclear:
Aug. 31, time unknown: Back end of horse trailer struck along I-270 eastbound.
Nov. 25, 1-3:30 p.m.: Back door of Coca-Cola truck shot in I-270 area.
