BTW his comment that right and wrong, are right and wrong no matter what he does, is the right comment to make. His actions don't determine what right and wrong are. He should continue with his commentary and let his listeners vote with their on/off switches.

I am sure there are a lot of parents out there who do not want their kids doing some of the stupid things they did as kids. Does that make them hypocrites?

Superficially, yes. What would be hypocritical would be for him to have claimed that a Kennedy escaped justice by employing high priced legal talent. He has every right to avoid comment on his behavior and legal horizon. Frankly, I don't give a hoot one way or t'other.

I think I have a pretty good grasp of what is "right" and what is "wrong". But it doesn't mean I "always" do what is "right".

There are folks in this world that do not understand, nor do they know what is "right" and what is "wrong". I think that's a given.

There are also people in this world...that know ( maybe it's deep down inside..or maybe not..) what is "right" and what is "wrong"...but do what they "do" anyway. For whatever reasons............................

You are absolutely right. Right's and wrong's are constant no matter what Rush does. However, according to the dictionary, he is a hypocrite .......One who plays a part; especially, one who, for the purpose of winning approbation of favor, puts on a fair outside seeming; one who feigns to be other and better than he is; a false pretender to virtue or piety; one who simulates virtue or piety.

Remember if something is right, it will be compelling to those who seek or know virtue to strive for it and not give in to the temptations of wrong. Rush knew it and chose not to go after it. That made him a hypocrite. And that's what he needs honestly needs to explain is how someone who knows virture allowed himself to pursue wrong.
