Radio KFWB 980 in LA broadcasting "Muslim Call to Prayer" and in need of some SERIOUS FReeping

I had just left Lenscrafters in San Bernardino and was enjoying my new bifocals and a nice cold Coke when something happened that made me spew my coke all over my dashboard. KFWB broadcast a MUSLIM CALL TO PRAYER complete with the Imam wailing away and some local Muslim cleric explaining thet it was a call to prayer for Muslims. Guy then goes into the standard spiel about how Islam is the "most tolerant of religions" and respects other religions and Jesus and we all worship the same God etc etc. And we all know what a crock of lies that is.

This happened just before 5:00 pm today and it sounded like they've been doing it all through Ramadan.

To each his own but I went to their contact page (link below and above) and shotgunned everyone on it with my feelings about them hawking Islam (Ramadan or no) and enlightened them with the TRUTH about Islam and I encourage everyone who feels the same to do the same. Just click below and fire away!

Absolutely.

And they live in every country of the world, so unlike previous World Wars, this one would be fought in our cities and towns, and against every nation in the world, who would in turn, be fighting in their own cities and towns.

Your fellow Christians on FR AND the average Christian in general, I would doubt, is less hateful, violent and ignorant than your average Muslim.

Not on this thread.

OK, now you've qualified your POV, differentiating yourself from the very people you criticize.

Respectfully, you're opinions would carry more weight if you were a little more literate.

The ability of Muslims to broadcast that call to prayer over our airwaves, like Christians broadcast our religious observances, is exactly what her son died protecting.

Everytime she hears that call to prayer, she should be reminded that he did not die in vain.

Oh semantics semantics...
No I did not say I condemn them (Muslims) as people, there faith yes. I do not think that it makes me a bigot. I am a christian but have fmaily members that married into faiths of Judiasm and our differences regarding Jesus does not mean that we do not embrace what brings us together in faith.
Nothing in ISLAM bridges that gap with christians and Jews. I can remember in the 80's when American women were marrying Muslims and when they refused to go to Muslim countries there children were stolen from them by there Muslim husbands. I also had a cousin who lived in Iran and Sauda Arabia and they have shared how barbaric these people in the name of ISLAM can be.

Well, I just can't believe how many FReepers - so-called conservatives who claim to believe in the Constitution, and it's inherent God-given freedoms - are getting upset because a non-government radio station plays the Muslim Call to Prayer.

I will defend the right for Muslims to have rights to run radio stations, and air prayers, just as I will defend the right for us Christians to have radio prayer programming (and we DO have that). To do anything else would be hypocritical.

As long as the Islamic Radio show isn't advocating the breaking of our nations laws, or the overthrow of our government, I just don't see the big deal. When they cross THAT line, then it becomes a problem for me.

No, you do their memory no honor with your bigoted words. These American men and women are dying FOR the lives and freedoms of the very Muslims some here want to call worthless and vile, and THAT is the height of disrespect.

So, how about a flat-out answer. Should Muslims be as free as christians to practice their religion in this country - provided that they adhere to our nations's laws?

Again I am not condeming them as a individual person with divine human rights, but there faith is one of in-tolerance and violence, that is what ISLAM is about.

Since, as you say, that is what Islam is about, perhaps President Bush should condemn the religion of Islam as a terrorist religion founded on intolerance and violence and send Pat Robertson and a band of Christian missionaries to convert them.

Christianity, during the Crusades, and the Spanish Inquisition, was intolerant and violent but over time it reformed itself.

The best we can hope for is that Islam will likewise root out its bad apples over time.

That cause will not be advanced by the West painting all Muslims with the same brush.

Anybody who uses a faith of PEACE which Christianity is does not believe in violence of anykind, Just because wolves is sheep's clothing are hiding behind the blanket of Christianity to claim there evil deeds does not mean they are doing it for Christian purposes.

The important thing for the purposes of this discussion is what people actually believe, not what we think their holy texts require them to believe. Have all Christians at all times in all places seen their religion as a religion of peace?

You are way off base here. Any government that can deny the free exercise of religion to one group can do it to any other. As a Catholic who has lived in the Baptist Bible Belt I am keenly aware of this. Just as the supreme court has affirmed that it is unpopular that needs protection, it is the minority and unpopular religions need protection. That is precisely why the freedom of religion was enumerated in the bill of rights.

Well the way I see it the ACLU will allow a Muslim child to kneel down in prayer for Rammadan yet G-d forbid a christian child mentions Jesus! There attack on Jews and Chrstians by removing the Ten Commandments, is yet a bigger slap in the face, yes tell me how tolerant our country is to the majority.

Allah is the Greatest
Allah is the Greatest

I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.
Come to Prayer
Come to Prayer
Come to success.
Come to success.
Allah is the Greatest.
Allah is the Greatest.
There is none worthy of worship except Allah.

Wow. That is so horrible. And to think, people might actually hear that! The shock! The horror! It should be banned! AAAAAAAAGGGGG!!!!

Heck, often times the average citizen born here doesn't know all of our nation's laws.

And if they break them, they are still held accountable.

Ok. So, we've gotten to the point. YOu don't think that, even if they adhere to our nation's laws, they should be allowed to worship freely. Ok, got it.

Now that we've got that out of the way, another question: Do you think that the Federal government should outlaw Islam?
