Radio KFWB 980 in LA broadcasting "Muslim Call to Prayer" and in need of some SERIOUS FReeping
Self ^ | 11/22/2003 | Self

Posted on 11/22/2003 6:50:02 PM PST by EUPHORIC

I had just left Lenscrafters in San Bernardino and was enjoying my new bifocals and a nice cold Coke when something happened that made me spew my coke all over my dashboard. KFWB broadcast a MUSLIM CALL TO PRAYER complete with the Imam wailing away and some local Muslim cleric explaining thet it was a call to prayer for Muslims. Guy then goes into the standard spiel about how Islam is the "most tolerant of religions" and respects other religions and Jesus and we all worship the same God etc etc. And we all know what a crock of lies that is.

This happened just before 5:00 pm today and it sounded like they've been doing it all through Ramadan.

To each his own but I went to their contact page (link below and above) and shotgunned everyone on it with my feelings about them hawking Islam (Ramadan or no) and enlightened them with the TRUTH about Islam and I encourage everyone who feels the same to do the same. Just click below and fire away!

"Islam" does not teach, people interested in using religion to acquire power parse the Qu'ran in order to create an atmosphere of hatred against non-Muslims.

There was a time on this Earth when Muslims where amongst the most educated people in the world, now, the masses are by and large illiterate.

Why?

Because a man who can read the Qu'ran by himself may question his Imam's interpretation of the words therein.

If you allow yourself to be equally swayed by those from "our" side of the conflict into generalizing Islam by words parsed from the Qu'ran, you are little more than that illiterate nomad being sold a bill of goods by a Jihadist.

Anybody who uses a faith of PEACE which Christianity is does not believe in violence of anykind, Just because wolves is sheep's clothing are hiding behind the blanket of Christianity to claim there evil deeds does not mean they are doing it for Christian purposes.

Just as a side note, Christianity wasn't always a "Faith of Peace". Just ask those who were tortured and killed during the inquisitions, during the founding of christian empires, etc... Oh wait. We can't. Because they are DEAD. Islam is one of the largest religions in the world, and yet it is only a small percentage of those who engage in terrorism, and they use Islam as an excuse to do those horrible things.

I agree. I think as Americans we need to change there ideology that the G-d of Abraham does not beleive in the killing of Jews and Christians, that women are to be treated with respect and dignity and if they really want to know the one and only true G-d they will give up there fascination with Muhammed.

For heaven sake look at the way they treat women for one!

You need to read about ISLAM and what they are required to do.
Hindus and Buddhists which I don't beleive in but still respect they way they ant to beleive do not want to kill christains and Jews.
ISLAM teaches that Christians and Jews are the enemy, some might not want to take the road as the radicals do in killing us but never the less thy hate us and our beleif system.

So tell me how do you defend a faith that truly believes the West and Israel should be annihilated.

Hmmm, well some Muslim nations such as Jordan and Egypt have attempted to be helpful in advancing the Israeli-Palestinian peace process. I hardly think the leaders and all of the citizens of these nations want to see the West annihilated. Aditionally, some have entertained the idea of peacefull coexistence with Israel. The last time I checked, a lot of Muslims in Iraq were providing good intelligence on the Fedayeen and asking the Americans not to leave Iraq.

I guess, according to your logic, President Bush could better advance the war against terror by calling for a "jihad" against all Muslims here and abroad.

No offense intended, but maybe some of us are more like the Islamist fanatics than we would like to admit?

So then, do we destroy our Constitution, and subsequently our way of life, to "save ourselves" from radical Muslims?

In other words, do we throw in the towel and engage in the antithesis of the principles that have guided this nation through so many years, acknowledge that ours in fact, is NOT the best system of governance known to man, and instead practice religious intolerance, becoming nothing more than a carbon copy of that which we fight?

For heaven sake look at the way they treat women for one!

And look at the way Christians used to treat women. NO difference, really. It wasn't until recent centuries that Christianity finally outgrew their mistreatment of women. And it's a GOOD thing that they have ended that treatment.

You need to read about ISLAM and what they are required to do.

I've read the Quran, AND the Bible. So what - do you still follow the Bible 100%? Or do you pick and choose the bits you like?

Hindus and Buddhists which I don't beleive in but still respect they way they ant to beleive do not want to kill christains and Jews.

Hindus can, on occasion, engage in atrocities too. If pushed far enough, but those two religions are not really the focus of discussion.

ISLAM teaches that Christians and Jews are the enemy, some might not want to take the road as the radicals do in killing us but never the less thy hate us and our beleif system.

I'd agree with you, if you had said "Some fanatics within Islam teach that Christians and jews are the enemy"

Whether one prefers to say that Muslims, Jews and Christians believe in different gods, as opposed to differing views of the same god, is largely a matter of semantics. From a Christian perspective, anyone who does not accept the full revelation of God through the saving work of Christ and the sustaining presence of the Holy Spirit has only a partial understanding of God.

Thus, Christians might argue that Muslims or Jews worship "a different god" because we believe their concept of God is incomplete. It is perhaps more appropriate, however, to think of Muslims and Jews as worshiping the same god, though not in His fullness.

Why does it matter? Our terminology can impact the effectiveness of our witness to any who do not accept Christ. It is essential that we keep channels of communication open by showing respect for people of other faiths, even if we believe their view of God is inadequate. Explaining Christ as the saving fulfillment and ultimate revelation of the same god is a natural and effective means of sharing our faith with Muslims and Jews. Insisting that they worship a different god altogether is bound to be counter-productive.

It is possible to be tactful in our speech without compromising our witness. --Source

Again I am not condeming them as a individual person with divine human rights, but there faith is one of in-tolerance and violence, that is what ISLAM is about. I also think if you truly beleive that any Muslim nation wants Israel around your fooling yourself. The theology is that ARABS truly beleive that ISRAEL belongs to Palestine, you are not going to sway them any differently.

Check it out. You seem to fall for anything.

Your fellow Christians on FR AND the average Christian in general, I would doubt, is less hateful, violent and ignorant than your average Muslim.

I agree of course I think we should be tactful.
But sometimes out of respect to our own "Americans" who are fighting in Muslim countries and dying. I think a Mother or a wife that is driving in her car knowing there loved one is fighting Muslims should not have to hear
"A call to a Muslim Prayer" on the american radio waves.

Ah, but you ARE condemning them as individual persons with divine human rights. Ya know why? Because, you allow Christian radio programming, but freak out because one station airs a Muslim "Call to prayer". Seems to me that you dont' agree that they have "divine human rights" within this country.

I also think if you truly beleive that any Muslim nation wants Israel around your fooling yourself.

What about Turkey? They don't seem to have a problem with Israel. Of course, Turkey is a SECULAR Islamic country.

The theology is that ARABS truly beleive that ISRAEL belongs to Palestine, you are not going to sway them any differently.

Ahhh... now we get to the crux of it. Arabs are a nationality. Islam is a religion. Not all Arabs are Islamic, nor are all Muslims Arabs. For example, Iranians are Persian, not Arabs.

What this means is, Arabs have a problem with Israel because of NATIONALISTIC reasons, and some of them use Islam as an excuse to perpetuate horrors. Various wars fought between modern-day Israel and the combined Arab armies had more to do with Nationalism, not religion.

This is where millions came to escape the evils of religious persecution, or evil people using religion to persecute. This is where the idea of Islam being a "religion of peace" will either thrive and overcome the evils of the Jihadists, or die forever, drawing the world into an interminable religious conflict. The idea is to uphold religious freedom for all here, to be the banner for those looking for haven, sanctuary, and peace to worship, and to support those who want to rip Islam out of the hands of they who would use the Qu’ran as an instrument for domination and oppression.

It's our only chance short of going to war with 800,000 most of who are not commiting violent acts.

But, that's what makes this country so great. That Mom has the option of tuning to a different station. In some countries, that isn't even an option - and the bottom line is, THAT is what our boys and girls are fighting for.
