Excellent idea for an ongoing family prayer thread. I humbly join hands in prayer with fellow Freepers to ask the Lord's blessings for our loved ones.

May I add a request? My adult son has not returned calls from the family for more than a year. I have no clue what's up with him, but suspect that he needs prayers. He did have serious financial reverses during the dotbomb debacle, perhaps he's still so embarrassed about it that he's shutting us out. (Lots of pride shattered!) Doesn't he know we love him no matter what? Dear God, please open his heart.

That's the question God asks concerning each one of us.

There have been many times in my life when I refused to accept God's love simply because I didn't feel like I deserved it.
It wasn't a matter of pride; it was a matter of shame.
Maybe your son is going through the same thing.

I pray that God will open his heart to your love and to His.
Our Lord makes all things new.

Prayers going up for your son and that you will all hear from him soon. Wouldn't the holidays be a perfect time for him to renew his connection to his family? I'll put that in my prayers too.

Heavenly Father, we return to give You thanks for this mother's heart .. reach her son, Lord, with an unrelenting desire to once again be in touch with those who love him so. Keep him well and keep him safe, and may You touch his family with Your comfort, knowing that He is in Your care. Things are better in the situation with our son, and I thank the Lord for it and thank everyone here for praying and please don't stop. Agreeing in prayer for all of you, too. - PW, hope your situation with your dear son is better. Be sure to tell him you love him. He should, but maybe doesn't know it, that these material setbacks and possessions are really very insignificant. Everyone has had financial and other setbacks if they've lived long at all.
