Move to Massachusetts, get married, I'm sure EVERYONE will be faithful, and voila! No more AIDS. GET REAL.

Was riding my bike through San Onofre State Park and noticed a bunch of signs that said, "Syphillis is here, get yourself tested!", then I realized that the south end of the park is notorious for people of the other pursuasion hanging out and hoping to get lucky.
I cycled a whole lot faster!

The syphilis rise and potential increases in AIDS cases will cause untold increases in lost wages, healthcare costs and human suffering, Feldman said. All of this easily could "be ameliorated with additional money abstinence," he said. Yeah, more money. Not. There's a cure for AIDS. Works each and every time.

Information on sexual orientation is often not collected by health departments
Then they ain't doing their job. The point of making Syphilis a reportable disease is to do contact tracing. How the hell do they do contact tracing if they don't know the orientation of the infected individual? Or to they refuse to "assume" orientation when given a list of same sex partners. Would that be the dreaded "profiling"?

The administration also requested decreasing the CDC's budget for prevention of sexually transmitted diseases, which already barely registers at a scant $168 million for the entire country for 2003. A 13-year-old article that's still very relevant: Are We Spending Too Much on AIDS?

I heard this reported on FOX.
The homosexuals and their diseases just keep on giving. They're a serious health hazard. My guess is America is finally catching on. It's about time!
First AIDS, the homosexual pedophile priests blacken the Catholics, the queer Bishop blackens the Episcapalians, outrage against homosexuals wanting to "get married", then Michael the kiddy homo gets busted, now they're passing around Syphilis (Romans 1 re-run?).
At least the crud is comming to the surface. People need to hear it.

Heightening concern further is the fact that syphilis increases the risk of HIV transmission by two to five times, because the genital sores caused by syphilis serve as portals of entry for the AIDS virusOh puke!

The syphilis rise and potential increases in AIDS cases will cause untold increases in ... healthcare costs Just what we need. Yep, just keep encouraging folks to live that lifestyle... Sigh.

Blank noted when her department interviewed a number of gay and bisexual men in 2002 about their sexual habits, it found recruiting sexual partners over the Internet was a common practice, including among those infected with syphilis. Something is really wrong with anyone who would behave in this manner....soliciting sexual partners over the internet?
Duh!!! these guys really have a very sick death wish.

The gay poulation will be always be the carriers and transmitters of whatever new and ever more powerful diseases come along.
Its why God does not want us to engage in homosexuality.
Its not natural or good for humanity.
More people have died from homosexually transmitted diseases than have died from green house gasses, global warming, hand guns and the war on terrorisim combined.

...particularly among gay and bisexual men,...All could be solved if all fifty states allowed marriages between homosexual men.
The men would stay home and watch the games, while the queer playing the role of wifey would pop corn and flip tops for his husband-figure. There would be no roaming around the bars at night for the odd tumble.
I forgot to tell you: this is a fairy tale.
