Explosion Hits Baghdad Sheraton Hotel Thursday, November 20, 2003
BAGHDAD, Iraq — A loud explosion shook the Sheraton Hotel in downtown Baghdad Friday morning, causing limited damage. No casualties were immediately reported.
U.S. soldiers at the scene said a rocket-propelled grenade had struck the 16th floor of the hotel, which is home to a number of U.S. companies and foreign journalists.
The blast left a hole in the wall where the shell had struck and broke several windows on the 18-floor building.
