This may have been posted but Neal Boortz has a good way of clearing things up. He has notes worth reading every day @ Boortz.com
President Bush will be facing demonstrators in England today. No big news. American presidents face demonstrations everywhere they go .. .even in this country.
I think, though, I have a bit of a handle on why so many Europeans literally hate George Bush. I can explain it with this scenario:
You're walking down the street when you notice a house on fire. The flames are just beginning to lick at some windows. From inside that house you hear screams. A mother is pleading for someone to come help her look for her babies.
You're frozen with fear out there on that sidewalk. You know there are children in that house, and you know the mother is in there trying to save them. You know they may all die, but you can't move out of your tracks on that sidewalk. You're afraid. After all, what if you get burned trying to save those people? What if you die? Maybe the flames will die out on their own? You're perfectly willing to stand in the yard with a garden hose trying to contain the flames .. but actually going in there? No way!
While you're standing there doing nothing, here comes this swaggering American in a cowboy hat. A damned Texan. The Texan sees the fire, hears the screams for help, throws down his hat and runs into the house. Minutes later he emerges with the woman and her children. They're safe.
What about you? You feel like a coward. That Texan has made you feel small .. he took your manhood. He showed you for the coward that you are in front of all of those people who were watching the spectacle. Those people know that they were more like you than like the Texan; after all, they stood by you in doing nothing. God, you hate him so. You hate him because he displayed the courage you only wish you had. Oh, you're glad he rescued that woman and her children; but why couldn't it have been you?
Suck it up, Europe. It's not like this is the first time Americans have had to do the job you should have done in the first place, and it probably won't be the last.

Do not post personal information on the open forum again.

They're still stuck in the stone age. They called themselves "Progressive", but they didn't know what that meant. What they really wanted to say was "Regressive." I call them losers.
Who take the wrong side in war of good against evil..who spend their life complaining and marching in the streets protesting against good world leaders like George Bush.
.....And then they get old and they die. And they are forgotten. End of story.

The goal was not an affirmative effort to help the colonial independence. The goal was to advance french power in the world arena at the time. The French did not give a dingo's kidney about the colonies. They did whatever they had to do to advance french interests. Stabbing the colonies in the back or helping them fight the british, it was all the same.
Just like the French would have done anything said anything to promote themselves in the UN arena for Iraq. They even chastized the "lesser" EU countries who were supporting the US by telling them to literally shut up.
It was and is only self interest. Nothing more nothing less.

Well well..wouldn't that be just the thing for a slick hick from Beaverville to say.

The call themselves Progressive because liberal has achieved a negative conotation. Its a stealth word. When Progressive is used up they will move on to the next word to diguise the socialists.
You have to be carful in europe because the liberal or right wing parties could be the reverse of the parties philosophies here.

and don't forget that the French threatened those countries who hadn't yet been allowed into the EU that their application might be negatively affected by their support of the US resolutions on Iraq in the UN.
The French are being drowned in muslim immigrants these days...the country's demographics are almost unrecognizable. We are getting more help from Saudi Arabia these days then we are from the French.
Next war, the Germans can keep them.

They're on the wrong side of world policies, and they're even sitting on the wrong side of the room. They can't get anything right. LOL. (Thanks. I forgot about that)

The High Priest of The Church of The Painful Truth nails it again. Boortz is so the man. I sure do miss my mornings in A-Town spent listening to him.

While I will not insult the integrity of the fallen French soldiers who died while following orders, I will say that their last action as a great military power ended at about the same time as American military power began its rise to being the the hyperpower that it is today-the American revoloution. Again,I will not insult the soldiers who aided us in that conflict, in fact we owe them thanks for that. But the sacrifices we endured by defending them through two world wars kind of balances the scales, don't you agree? The scorn directed toward the PRESENT incarnation of France is well deserved in my opinion. In fact, I would think that the French of 60 years ago would probably stage a coup against what they call a government today. As for the homo comment, the "in your face" tactics of the gay rights movement, and the Mass. supreme court have extinguished any sympathy I might have had for their plight.I am sick and tired of any mention of them, even on obscure military websites.
