Rush is definitely ON today...I don't see that his addiciton will have ANY negative impact on his success, much to the liberals' dismay. I hear that Tom Daschle is deeply saddened.

I don't think it would be unusual for alot of people here to be addicts. FreeRepublic is an addictive site. I'm not kidding about this. You shouldn't. The one thing I learned in NA meetings is that I am an addictive person. I could get addicted to little bits of fluff. I could get addicted to clouds. I can get addicted to ANYthing.
I'm getting addicted to my recovery these days.

I loved Rush's take on the futility of trying to change Fat Ted's behavior.
The really sad thing is that Bush STILL hasn't wised up and is still trying this tact
Doesn't give one a very confident feeling for Bush but I am sure his backers won't face the facts

yes, that struck me as suspicious, never mentioned her as part of any "support structure".

A central part of the program is repentence - going back and making amends to people you've hurt. This is restitution, not repentance. Repentance is turning away from the sin, whereas restitution is recompense for the harm done. Apologies don't constitute restitution.

I just woud Wickenburg Arizona on my map, not far from Phoenix. I think Rush has said this morning that he was only in Arizona and they could not find him!!! It is odd that it stayed quiet. Good for the meadows, they are doing something many others do not do... Confidential!

Repentance requires the invited intervention of the Savior, Jesus Christ.
Everything else is just the cessation of wrong behavior and doesn't do anyting to help us know Him and, thus, grow spiritually.

Rush and Marta, from dittohead.org.

Well he should be prosecuted. I would be in jail right now. Rich drug addicts (like Rush) can go to fancy rehabs, not get fired for BREAKING the morals clause in his contract, and still be working, and people feel sorry for this guy? Puhleeze, he made the choice to take illegal drugs (please don't tell me that there were doctors prescribing 1000+ pills). It's laughable.
Just because you are a conservative, doesn't mean you have to like Rush. I always thought he was entertaining...but that's about it.
To: colorado tanker
Well said! We make amends, meaning we change our behavior. It's not just an "I'm sorry" and forget about it.

I would be so tickled if he called in and said "Rush?" "W here......I can relate...." :) They do have this in common, except Bush over indulged in alcohol.... I don't mean this disrespectfully..... Hope it didnt come out sounding that way.

You're tagline is a hoot! :)
In a related matter, I just ordered David Limbaugh's book and I know he's religious.

"His hearing loss comes to mind." Yep...I'd heard that the drugs he was addicted to sometimes cause hearing loss...now, we this timeline, that damage appears more plausible...MUD

I posted this at 7:59pm on the day Rush went away.
The big difference for me this time is that I also quit drinking.
This is something I have been considering for some time now, and when Rush announced that he was going into rehab, I said I am going to quit drinking the same day and then decide in 90 days whether I ever want to touch alcohol again. (This is difficult for me and any Freeper advice through Freepmail about battling alcohol is appreciated).
It is now 5 weeks later and I have not touched alcohol and I have also lost 35 pounds and radically improved my life. I did it for myself, but I also did it when I did because I thought "if Rush can go through this, so can I" and I did it cold turkey.
Thanks Rush, and thanks to all the Freepers who gave me "advice", it helped. BTW, I don't need 90 days to decide, I'm through with alcohol and I don't miss it after 25 years of almost daily drinking.
