Limbaugh's Fans Are Certain They're Right

The coming return of Rush Limbaugh to the famed "golden microphone" of his national bully pulpit invites us to ponder the reasons for the remarkable success of his kind of radio programming. Liberals have made numerous unsuccessful attempts to create an equally popular propaganda vehicle for the other side of the ideological spectrum. What they may lack is the element of simplicity.

Limbaugh's message is usually resoundingly and blessedly simple. (One should not assume that simplicity and truth are synonymous here.) His genius lies in reducing rather complex issues into deceptively straightforward terms. For example, the challenge of crafting environmental policies that balance legitimate economic considerations with a responsible awareness of the finitude of natural resources is dismissed as the neurotic hand wringing of tree hugging "environmentalist whackos."

>>Liberals thrive on people's self pity, victim mentality and bad self esteem. Libs are the tape worms in the intestine of America.<<

May I nominate this quote for "Quote of the Day"?

I second that, great quote.

Amen. You can fit a leftist's entire political philosophy on your average bumper sticker.

I'm bored. I've been looking at the zotted articles all day (slow news day today). Is it wrong to ask one of the hundreds of DUmmies lurking over here to please post some nonsense, just so we can zot it?

Liberals have made numerous unsuccessful attempts to create an equally popular propaganda vehicle for the other side of the ideological spectrum. What they may lack is the element of simplicity.

Would that be like Michael Moore using his sophisticated rhetoric to encourage people in a different country (Britain) to mass against our President when he visits there? Is this author referring to THAT type of classically liberal rhetoric-you know that type-hurtful, treasonous, anti-American, etc? Or is he referring to the tome like al gore's environmental blather, or hitlery's college thesis?

Sigh.

Poor liberals....so dang smart, so incredibly brilliant and awesomely loaded with deep, complex understandings of the issues of the day, they, < sigh >, are simply unable to transform their heavy gravitas into simple, understandable terms.

Course where this hick comes from, the ability to break the complex into understandable components is, well, the height of intelligence.

This boob is so full of himself he probably finds it hard to walk and breath at the same time.

But then, he has to ponder the deeply moving words his liberal friends in the political arena have been throwing around lately, you know the ones, words like LEMONS and NEANDERTHALS, etc. Those mighty words used by very elite democrats to slander men and women sitting on judicial benches within our nation.

So.....so............INTELLIGENT! Deep! Non-offensive!!!! Lemons!!!! Neanderthals!!!! (And don't forget Mary Landrieu's ugly rant from the well of the senate, directed at Judge Brown, 'You are NEVER going to sit on that bench, HONEY!) Such class! Such kindness!!! Such a statesmanlike understanding of advise and consent!!! Liberals are so very genteel and full of perception and sensitivity!

Certainly far above the general 'environmental wacko' garden variety words used by Rush. Nooooooooooooooooo......liberals would NEVER STOOP to using such a term.

Hannity pounds the Left with the short phrases and keeps the faithful fed. Rush analyzes and persuades. Coulter pounds them mercilessly. O'Reilly is a populist and not a conservative. We need them all.

I've missed Rush and will be glad he's back.

I'm not sure why they say that the Democrat message is too complicated?

Rich white man is doing you wrong, so vote for another rich white man to get yours.

How complicated is that?

I believe this is called projecting.

Big time.

Meet a Gore supporter who chanted, "Count All The Votes" and explain to them that Gore didn't want to count ALL the votes, just five heavily Democrat counties out of sixty seven and your Gore supporter will mindlessly chant "Count All The Votes".

Similarly, to this day, their mantra is "Gore Got More" reflecting the naltional popular vote. Now that's a real joke on two counts. First, Gore got more, but it's so small a delta as to be no big deal. The country pretty much went half and half. Second, the rule is Electoral College. You don't see Mets fans bitching that they were robbed because they had more runs than the Yankees in Game Seven that year.
