"A military spokesman did not comment on the cause of the crash or possible casualties."

When do we stop being so damn politically correct and "sensitive," and just go in there full force and get the job done? I'm damn sick and tired of letting the Euroweinies and our very own leftist "elites" hector us into running a polite war.

They should be hanged for lots of reasons, but Saddam Hussein and all his henchmen still involved in this fighting should be hanged on the spot for this when caught, if they are lucky enough to survive being caught. Prayers for our fallen heroes.

That "elite" that's supposed to be running this war is GWB and I'm damned sick and tired of dead soldiers

"Twelve coalition soldiers were killed and another nine more were wounded in Iraq Saturday after two U.S. Army UH-60 Black Hawk (search) helicopters crashed, the U.S. military said.

"Witnesses said the two aircraft collided in mid-air."

Where did the RPG's stuff come from?

Unfortunately, dead soldiers are a part of war. However, this pussyfooting around is needlessly costing us lives and *that's* what pisses me off the most.

I may be wrong, but isn't this a war? 412 (estimate) soldiers killed since April while a full invasion of a country has been taking place. That's not too bad. 45,000 soldiers were killed in the invasion of Normandy, and that's not a full count.

Choppers are fine for certain conditions(lots of cover). Out in the open these things can be heard and seen far in advance.
Its one of the risks of using them.
Chopppers arent my favorite platform.
Even at night I have seen these things give away their position in the desert as they kick up sand which begins to glow in a large halo due to the piezoelectric effect of the silicon quartz crystals in the sand.
Prayers for the pilots and crews.

First they have to find the specific people with the weapons and target them only. It's not like we are going to blow up everything in Iraq and all the people.

You might tend to think less sanguinely when someone you love is over there, but your point is taken.

The informed experts here will no doubt correct me, but my own opinion is that people within our government tethered the military a few months ago, and we are now witnessing the fruits of that decision. Iron Hammer came late late.

Hopefully, not too late. Right now, the thugs are taking advantage of every mis-step we make, and they should never have had the luxury.

Get a grip on reality ... more Marines & Navy personnel died on the beaches of Iwo Jima in the first hour of the assault than died in Gulf War I (Desert Storm) and in the Iraq conflict to date. You're buying into the liberal media drip, drip, drip (another soldier died today ... the 400 or so since the conflict began in March) propaganda. We're at war folks ... remember 9-11?

You've got a point there. Important to keep perspective.

This appears to be an accident. they are touchy machines in a dangerous enviroment, dusk and dust in the desert arent ideal operating conditions.

First, if these are nmissiles, I'd bet these were Strellas or the French equivilent. Secondly,I'm not convinced it is not pilot error, yes, this does happen..
We shall see in any event.

The purpose of a military is not to protect the troops.

"but Saddam Hussein and all his henchmen still involved in this fighting should be hanged on the spot for this when caught,"

Thats the only way to end the bloodshed, IMO. Those Iraqis who were tortured and had family murdered by that Baathist party should be put in charge of the final clean up.

Two Iraqi witnesses (from 2 reports) say they heard an explosion before coming out to see 2 choppers collide. One of them mentioned that one chopper was on fire as it rose up and collided with the second - possibly a frantic move to dodge enemy fire.

Gotta source for that?

I don't have to buy into anything - I've had family members die in all these "causes" and believe me - dead is dead whether it be one or 500
