I always thought it would be ironic if we found no WMD but instead found solid evidence of ties to al-Qaeda.

Let's not forget that its been fairly well accepted that Saddam tried to have President Bush the Elder asassinated in 1992 or 93 during a visit to Kuwait, and the first WTC attack took place in 1993. If Saddam was lunatic enough to try to kill GHW Bush, why not crazy enough to help al-Qaeda?

If AQ does inflict a mass casuality attack upon American, or anyone for that matter, using WMD or any sort - this will be the final proof and justification.... I suspect Syrian and Iranian efforts to product various weapons banned under international treaties to which they either support or are nonsignatories will put them on the hot seat as well if AQ happens to use chemical or biological weapons. The tolerance of militant Islam has been reached and pre-emptive measures are a given.
