What is the purpose of the Catholic church excommunicating politicians? Will non politicians also be excommunicated for similar reasons?

I'll have to check with the Monsignor, but I am pretty sure that a Kennedy/Dodd waitress sandwich is also against the rules.

Catholic politicians can no longer take cover under their religion to say abortion is okay. It is not okay in the Catholic Church. They have no right calling themselves Catholic. Stupid people (mostly DemocRATS) will get the idea that abortion is okay if the Catholic politicians say it's okay.

For Catholics and non-Catholics alike, I know many of us have signed the petition; however, many signatures are still needed.

Please Sign this Canonical Petition to Interdict or Excommunicate Culture of Death "Catholics"

The way the excommunication for abortion works is this.

Dear Doug,

One of the authors of this (one of the head guys at Catholic Family) is our very own Polycarp (Brian Kopp). Regrettably, Polycarp is no longer active here at FR.
