I am not a doomsday nut guys but, I have always been haunted by Hal Lindsay's "LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH" written in 1970." Would just like to recite a small chapter. "Keep your eyes on the Middle East. If this is the time that we believe it is, this area will become a constant source of tension for all the world. The fear of another World War will be almost completely centered in the troubles of the area. It will become so severe that only Christ or the AntiChrist can solve it. Of course the world will choose the antichrist. Israel will become fantastically wealthy and influential in the future. Keep your eyes upon the developments of riches in the Dead Sea(??) The US will not hold its present position of leadership in the western world; financially, the future leader will be Western Europe. Internal political chaos caused by rebellions and Communist subversion will begin to erode the economy of our nation. Lack of moral principle by citizens and leaders will so weaken law and order that a state of anarchy will finally result. The military capability of the US, though it is at present the most powerful in the world, has already been neutralized because no one has the courage to use it decisively. When the economy collapses so will the military. The only chance of slowing up this decline is a widespread spiritual awakening."

Maybe the Spiritual awakening happens OUT of the mass destruction and chaos?

Hal Lindsay's "LATE GREAT PLANET EARTH
I read these things, and many things like it long ago.
Exploiters of persons who are not exactly renowned thinkers, are not honestly worthy of serious attention, in my opinion. Indeed Linday's work is of a certain merit, but I have little time for persons who make a living out of cheap novels which are designed to strike fear into the hearts of decent people. Lindsay is a whore, and there are many like him.
We do not need guilt in this place. Americans need to know just how great this Nation is, and then they can reflect on just why it's demise is such a dark and drastic thing. The downfall does seem to be inevitable, and that is sad.
I remind all to carefully read the words of the master.
Matthew 23:37O
Jerusalem,
Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and
stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
(Whole Chapter:
Matthew 23 In context:
Matthew 23:36-38)
Some may learn the meaning of the metaphor, most will not. Too bad.

I'd forgotten that paragraph. Thanks.
And that's just from his research and logic. He doesn't claim any prophetic gifting at all, at least didn't at that time.
