The 23/24 of Nov may be the last most opportune dates in Nov. However, I suspect they are flexible to some degree.
Ramadan ends on the 26th of November.
The 23rd. is the Solar Eclipse, the 25th is the "Night of power" when Mo was given the Koran. Both are significant dates. The night of power is when Allah sets the tone for the coming year.

It's possible that an Islamic country like Pakistan may have a weapons design that doesn't incorporate a coded trigger mechanism, that could be made available to terrorists
Yup. VERY possible. The first atomic bomb dropped on Japan (the "little boy" device) was nothing but 2 separate lumps of U235 totalling inside a modified howitzer barrel that were shot together with high explosives. The arming procedure was simply removing two steel dowels from the sides of the barrel so that the uranium could move when the propellant charge was detonated. And that simple bomb had a yield of about 15 kt. Just bringing the right quantity of U235 or other fissionable elements into proximity without the explosive charge driving it together can yield in the low kt range. All the complexity you hear about comes into play when you start building the modern bombs that use tiny amounts of plutonium to produce big yields.

"Dead people are worse than terrified people, that's why. 100,000 terrified people don't make the news...100,000 dead people do. I am a little scared but I keep up my normal activities - I take these threats somewhat seriously - that is, I am prepared mentally for the shock of an attack - which I wasn't last time - I am also prepared with cash, water, food etc"I'm not trying to minimize the unspeakable catastrophe of losing 100,000 people. Just pointing out that terror is the terrorists' ultimate objective and only tool to obtain their goal of world domination.
I'm glad to hear you're prepared and not letting these constant warnings get to you...but look at some of the other posts on this thread. Some of them communicate genuine terror. O was on a thread last night where some cleric was bragging about how they would destory the US. One poster said "bring it on". This prompted another poster - no names, not even screen names - to get hysterical enough to try to "shout" everyone down for what he/she considered bravado from their safe bedrooms calling the terrorists' attention and making an attack come true. THAT is abject terror.

It's high time we threatened Mecca with destruction. That will put a crimp in Al Qaeda's style! Let's demolish the center of their satanic cult, then they can face the North Pole when they pray to their nonexistent god.

The AQ terrorists themselves seem to be planning to hit Muslim Holy Sites- and then blame the attacks on U.S. and Israel.

said that muslims were clearing out of the city...But this woman did not know why. Clearing out of the cities will not protect them afterward. If they're not leaving the country, best if they just stayed home and enjoyed the show with the rest of us.

They wouldn't date blow up Mecca - the black stone area. That is near and dear to their wicked little hearts. It's Allah's holy of holies. Blow that up and you blow up 2 of the 5 pillars of Islam, and show them that their god is impotent to stop the great satan.

"It's high time we threatened Mecca with destruction"I've been hollaring - loudly - for the last two years that we need to have a nuke aimed at Mecca. Hold that meteor they worship hostage as a guarantee of good behavior.

Well then my right to live and practice my faith is more important than your allegiance to a political ideology.
Let's leave it at that OK? Think about this:
The shepherd drives the wof from the sheep's throat...for which the sheep thanks the shepherd as a liberator while the wolf denounces him for the same act as a destroyer of liberty.

Slaves got their rights back and so did the Japanese-Americans during WWII. So did lots of other people.
Your argument is very very weak.

"I have to say that in the first few minutes after seeing the trade towers on fire, I was thinking 60,000."
I had to remind someone of this the other day. I told her, don't you remember, in the first day or two we thought tens of thousands of people had been killed. I have another friend, who lives out of the NY area and pays not much attention to the news, months later she STILL thought 20,000 people had been killed.
I certainly hope this article is all hot air. But I do wonder what our response would be if such a large scale attack happened. We really can't back down this time. No matter how many Muslims have to die.
