Nope, 7000?
To: Howlin
See kcvl's reply above. The other two are:
14th Amendment, Section 2. Those who swore allegience to the Confederacy were disqualified from becoming Representatives or Senators, but the disqualification could be removed on a 2/3rds vote of each hose; and
25th Amendment, Section 4. The House and Senate can declare the President is unable to discharge the duties of his office.

Any proof on the hacking of Frist's site? I don't doubt the dems did it, but I haven't seen anything reported on it.

Randall_Flagg has been able to post many of the 'milestone' posts during this live thread, i.e. 1000th post, 5000th post, etc. He posted at 6998 that he wasn't going to 'hog' post #7000, so I thought I'd jump in and try and get it, but missed :-(
This was happening a lot during the Iraq war daily threads. I'm trying to remember the name of the poster who was the master of it. Anyone remember these:

.....I think that is the point. IMO the Dems want a costitutional crisis on any and every case they can find. That way they can try to re-write the constitution the way THEY want it. We are all being dupped. It is obvious to me that they have plans to always push the limits and cross every line from now until the end of time. They can not win the way things are now, so they want to change all of the rules and at least cause enough choas to blur the lines of civility, as well as understanding of our government's functions .
The Republicians need to get a backbone and see themselves on the front line of this culture war.......
Agree. But, we now know what the democrats are up to and it will just have to be constant war here in our homeland to counter it. Such a shame to have to spend time refighting for the freedoms that were won years ago.
We have new tools - the internet, talk radio to counter their efforts. Thanks to Jim for providing such a valuable asset in this war.
Also, a real pity that so many want to trash this valuable asset to fight the democrats because they would prefer to fight this administration - our only hope.
To: Howlin
Why do Republicans always let the Democrats lead the way when it comes to flushing tradition and protocol down the toilet? Sure, we all agree that there will never again be a Democrat-nominated judge (legitimately) confirmed if that judge has even the faintest whiff of liberal stench, but when that day comes (and it WILL come) what do you suppose the Democrats will do? Answer: They will (naturally) lead the Senate to another new low by exercising the so-called "nuclear option".
Since the Democrats today demonstrated that they are ready, willing, and able to shrug off 214 years of Senate tradition and protocol, isn't it obvious that they would not hesitate to use this "nuclear option" and thereby, once again, leave the Republicans looking around helplessly (and pathetically) in disbelief?
NOW is the Republicans' chance to beat the Democrats to the at their own game. For once, the Republicans can leave the Democrats stammering and whining. It is time to go nuclear. Because you KNOW the Democrats will. They have proved it today.
