This forum belongs to all of us FReepers. One thing you used to be able to count on was that we ALL - to the one - were united against Ted Kennedy and his ilk. That's what I was trying to say when I said: "What's happening to my beloved FreeRepublic.com."

He should have exhumed the body of Barry Goldwater for the transition team.

Perhaps if we weren't told to "be very afraid" and that we shouldn't have liberal plumbers, comments wouldn't be so ascerbic.
To: Saundra Duffy
I dont disagree with your post #101. I just think that when we go on the attack before the results are in, we resemble the nutcases on DU. Liberalism is an infectious disease, but it is curable. Liberals are not lepers to be banished to an island somewhere. Give Arnold a chance to get something done, and if he screws up, I will be attacking him right beside you.

No, I'll stay with flippant. Your comment was dissrespectful and shallow.

Chill out. This thread is almost identical to others involving Arnold, Duffy, etc. The tone of the posts are similar, as well. More similar threads will likely follow from time to time. You'll just have to learn to deal with it.

"Personally, I hope Kalifornia does as poorly under the Terminator as it did under Gay Davis."
What a fine ambassador for conservatism you are! People must enjoy your positive and uplifting spirit!
Let me see. Under democrats you want California to do poorly. And under (less than perfect) Republicans you want California to do poorly.
Tell me where you live, so I can send you some equally cheerful wishes. Wait for me to empty half of the glass.
That way you can call it the "empty glass."

Saundra, I detest Edward M. Kennedy and all democrats, save for Zell Miller. We are on the same team, except I think you're jumping the gun on Arnold.
I voted for Arnold --- you didn't --- but he won and he won big time. He's going to make a success of his governship, just as he has in all his endeavors. CA is now in play for POTUS and all other Republicans who will challenge democrats in 2004, in state races and in races for the US House and Senate.
Our GOP glass is more than half full. Thanks to Arnold winning the election, Latinos are no longer property of democrats. Independents overwhelmingly voted for Arnold too. What percentage of the black vote did he get? Thirteen percent or more if memory serves. This is not just GOOD, it's great.
I think you'll be pleasantly surprised. If I'm wrong, I'll be one of the first to criticize him. Of course he'll do some things I don't like --- but if he's 75% --- I'll take it and be pleased.

You folks outside California need to sit back and wait to see what happens out here. Going nuts over every appointment is just stupid. And you folks in California need to realize that this doesn't affect just you. Once the RNC sees that people like Arnold get elected to office instead of conservatives, chances are we'll see more like him in other states. Who cares if the Republican Party WINS ELECTIONS if they're not going to be conservative after the fact?

I don't blame you! You can never tell where they've been. I hope your fears are unfounded but more then likely you are correct. Democrats are wounded and nothing is more dangerous then a wounded animal.

Miss Marple, Saundra posted an article and then wrote these two sentences in her comment:
I don't want to say "I told you so" but I did state that I was worried this would happen. God help California. In post #6 she gets treated as though she is wearing a 'tin hat' for those two sentences. I said it was disrespectful and I still think it was.
Her concern is valid and credible and not a view that deserves injecting the wacko 'tin hat' crack.
Disagree all you want, I've got to get back to teaching and housechores.
To: Saundra Duffy
I won't allow a liberal democrat into my home.
Wow. You must have a small circle of friends. How does it feel to be an elitist ?

I think Schwarzenegger is very liberal and even leftist environmentally. His administration merits concern and watching carefully.

Make sure your wife doesn't turn around to look back. She might turn into a pillar of salt.
