I get along with my liberal brother and sister just fine, as long as no one brings up politics.
Of course, they do, being democrats. Just had this happen Saturday night. There I was, munching on a hot dog and watching the bonfire, when my brother said "I know I shouldn't mention politics, BUT..."
It was not a pretty sight.
One thing the democrats fail to demonstrate is MANNERS. My brother was brought up better, but it seems that there is some sort of compulsion to speak nastily about Republicans.
Oh, well.

What worrys me at this point is the Hinds County results.
58 of 166 precincts reporting and the Dim has 73% of the vote.
If number of precincts counts for anything Hinds county is by far the most populous in the state.

Philly will never elect a GOP mayor. If Streets disastrous tenure isn't enough for a change, nothing will be. New Jersey has an independent commission that re-draws assembly and Senate lines. They screwed the GOP in the 2001 re-draw, costing them their majorities in the house and senate. They basically accepted the RAT map verbatim. Tonight is just the continuation of that with the GOP losing a couple of seats that they barely held onto before.

Spending hundreds of billions on social engineering in Iraq, social engineering that doesn't even work in our own cities -- BAD.We're attempting to build a form of democracy/capitalism in Iraq with the hope that it will spread...the old domino effect. It's worth a try. Don't overreact.

My dad built a house on a "top" at Hound Ears 20 years ago.
Between the indig freaks and the summer South Florida "Palm Beach style voters", I can find plenty to aggravate me.
Still I love the place and it's free. I could never afford to build squat there now.

Thank you Miss Marple. I also pray constantly that they will wake up before it's too late, but it doesn't seem likely. They actually believe that Jerry Falwell is the most dangerous man in America, and that I've been "captured" by the "Christian extremist right". Their lives are a mess, they are completely brainwashed as only liberals can be. They never crack a book (unless it is work related, & what can you learn from drama books?), get their news from NPR and CNN. Yet I'm the one who is ignorant. Go figure.
