Leaving polls open late, as well as election day voter registration and voter id's for dogs, were part of the overall "vote stealing" category. I could add alot more uncomplimentary things to the list, but why beat a dead horse?

"According to the cia factbook (www.cia.gov), the population of Iraq is approximately 29 million of which 97% are Muslim, 3% Christian. Of those who are Muslim, 60-65% are Shia and 34-37% are Sunnis. The percentage among Kurds of Shia versus Sunnis is also approximately 2 Shia for every 1 Sunni. In other words, the most problematic part of the population consists of a little more than 1,000,000 people (35% of 29 million). With 100,000 troops stationed in Iraq, we are fighting this war with a 10:1 ratio against us. Considering those odds, we're doing a pretty good job with casualties as low as they are."
A couple of problems with your analysis.
#1 - 35% of 29 million is 10 million, not 1 million. So the ratio is actually 100:1.
#2 - Kurds are Sunnis, not Shia. Kurds are very much on our side - the only ones that liked Saddam were ARAB Sunnis.
I believe Kurds represent 15% of the overall population, so to get a true number you should be taking 20% of 29 million, which means the real problem is a little less than 6 million, so the ratio would be 60:1.

Alcorn County 100% votes counted. 5531 Barbour, Musgrove 4309. Little is still up in the air. Tuck declared winner.

yeah, I think he is a great guy. The only thing I don't like about him being Ag. Commish is that I can't take my pets to him anymore. :-)
To: GeronL
What good is that without any real power? Rudy had to go to court to get anything done.
To: wardaddy
LOL, Amen to all of that.

The two biggest ponds for Haley are left, Rankin and DeSoto. The Musgrove pond in Hinds is there to offset, but it will only be about a 50% offset.

Hinds is Dem only at a 55-60% clip. Not enough I don't think to overcome Haley's margin.

Do you happen to know how many state house seats and state senate seats are up tonight and what the current breakdown is? I know there are 122 state house seats altogether.
To: MHT
Amen to that!

I know exactly where that is. I'll be back first arctic cold snap in dead of winter. I love to be on the mountaintop when it's around zero and the winds are howling and a nice bunch of snow. My absolute favorite time to be there.
I am the only family member who uses the place between Thanksgiving and April. I was there in 96 when it was 8 below and 90mph gusts...perfect. My cigar froze and cracked while I was smoking it on the deck. I had to drag our Dobie out to tinkle outside...lol...literally. Our home is at around 4500 foot and when big winter fronts move in over Roan and Grandfather and Beech and Sugar, it's a sight to behold...we face the NW...with about a 150 foot cliff below the front deck...perfect.
