Al Qaeda again threatens New York, Washington and Los Angeles - Daily Terror Threat

Monday, November 3, 2003

A new message was posted in the last few hours by the Jeddah-based al-Qaeda-linked Al-Islah (Reform) society calling on Muslims to flee New York, Washington and Los Angeles in advance of major al Qaeda attacks in those cities. This is revealed by DEBKAfile.

The message accuses the United States of predetermining its end (doom) by its policies. ?The Jews rule the Pentagon by remote control and (are the cause) of Muslims being killed in every corner of the world. The United States should therefore expect more blows.?

The message is signed on behalf of the al Bayan (The Threat) movement by ?your warrior brother, Abul Hassan al Khadrami?.

Our Muslim expert identifies the name of the signatory as belonging to a Yemeni from Hadhrameuth, the Bin Ladens? place of origin where Osama enjoys substantial tribal support.

DEBKAfile?s counter-terror sources stress that warnings appearing on these forums are taken both very seriously and with caution by the intelligence services keeping track of the terrorist network?s electronic traffic.

Last November, Jeddah-based fundamentalist forums addressed a message to an Al Qaeda member, saying whoever understands ? understands; whoever knows, knows, but we are marching towards an operation that will take us to Paradise. Three days later, the Mombasa Paradise hotel was blown up killing 12 Kenyans and 3 Israelis and a failed shoulder-launched Strela anti-air missile missed an Israeli airliner at Mombasa airport.

Hi Mama Ruth: I must say I love your posts, you have so many wonderful stories and insight into what is happening now. You are absolutely right about all our modern weapons etc. and we still have to dig a fox hole.

Are you printing out your posts? You should write all this down for future generations about all that you have experienced in your life. I wish there was a freeper that lived near you that was a Mr fixit.....maybe there is. I'm about 2 1/2 hours away, but trust me I am not the fix it kind of gal.

Please continue with your research in the Yahoo groups I have a feeling you are on to something!!

What a bunch of gullible, malleable nincompoops!!

Wow. You must be fun to work with.

I kind of like 'nincompoops,' ladyjane...I've been called worse at work (not to my face, mind you, 'cause they'd be too "skeerd to!"). 8^)

Bill always said that we needed to get guns that took the NATO ammunition, as if we were invaded, there would be bullets available on the battlefield dead.

That is the most stunningly interesting thing I have learned in a long time!

Yes, I had extra water, people hate to travel with me, I take extra's and then when they get consumed or used, it becomes "good thing that you brought that". LOL

granny, once again you are the voice of reason, practicality and survivability! Thanks for your perspective & tips...

Please call: 1-800-MOUSEREPAIR

This should fix your problem.

That's funny, Velveeta...guess I might have to call, too! I'm not ruling out a Russia scenario; guess I'm just not as convinced of its viability at this time. I'm reading & rereading Russia/Putin threads...who knows which side of the fence I'll be on at day's end!

(Can't wait to use 1-800-MOUSEREPAIR on a few folks I know...good one!)

At the risk of bringing up Suitcase Nukes again..

Here's a good link for those of you (like me) who are wondering what around you could be hit, and what the fallout dosages might amount to.

I ran through a few calculations using the tool here this morning to figure out what my risk might be if something went off near here..the long and short of it is..I'm so close to a major city, that there's no sense building a shelter, because the ONLY way to survive would be to "head for the hills".

Hope someone out there finds this info useful:

And the following tool to calculate distances ("as the crow flies") between two cities:

Hi Tom. Well, everyone is indeed putting everything on the table. I think that is good. I read almost all the posts, or try to, and I simply move on fast to additional analysis of those ideas that strike me as possible -- even though almost anything these days may be possible. For example --for myself -- I choose to pay very little attention to all the posts about caves here in the U.S. But, who knows, I could very well be proved wrong one day soon, I hope not. I always respect all the work of those posters who posted the info that they found or researched, however.

You know, this thread is like the Chandra Levy threads in 2001. It is a cafeteria of ideas from all vantage points and some are very imaginative. The Chandra case is still up in the air in some major ways. Of course, this thread is also like the threads of Elizabeth Smart, and so many ideas posted in those threads proved way, way out there.

As far as Russia, they are our allies in the overall war on terror. Sadly, they are not our allies in many other issues, and I guess this is not surprising. I am pissed that Russia provided Iraq with night vision goggles and jammers that worked against our armed forces. We would be wise to continue the cold war dance with Russia. Walk softly but carry a big stick, so to speak. Same with China and more of Western Europe than we would have liked evidently!

Have you read the latest EOM post?

Not good news, about the shelter, but isn't doing something better than not? I don't know, just asking. Maybe you can start land searching in the countryside. Is that doable? I'll read the links. Thanks, bunches.

Good idea...you should put a fancy name on it, trademark it and watch the $$$ roll in.

I try not to read EOM, as it gets me going even more than normal (and that's saying something..)

I still hope (and pray) that EOM is just some kid playing around. Note that the CN&Y board where he posts does not require ANY kind of registration, so ANYONE can post there and "claim" they are EOM. The only way to tell the "real" EOM is by IP (which shows up with every post). Problem is, with proxies, a clever person could even fake the IP. (And this is apparently what EOM does to "hide" from the authorities).

The shelter issue is causing MUCH friction here in the household. My wife thinks I am nuts. Maybe I am. But the PROBABILITY of a WMD attack to me seems very likely. So, I've had to think.."what if.." a lot. The good news is I'm only near one major city. The bad news is..I'm 21 miles from a major city. It's not LA, NYC, Washington DC. But it's still apparently at "orange" according to the radio here yesterday. (Why?) Also..NEST was here recently, which doesn't give me the warm fuzzies.

Using the tool I posted the link to, I figured out the Rads we'd pull in if a suitcase device went off 21 miles away. Not good, even at low kilotonage. We simply couldn't hang out here for very long. Megaton - we're dead very quickly.

Here's a good link on shelters and how much radiation your body can handle before different breakdowns/illnesses start to occur:

http://www.radshelters4u.com/index2.htm#1m

If you look at the tables there + the program I posted earlier, you can figure out if you can stay put or have to hightail it away from any event. I also found out that 8 inches of concrete reduces the radiation level by half 2X over. (So, it goes from 100R->50R->25R). BUT..25R over 10 hours is enough to put you at serious risk of health problems and a low possibility of death. So, staying "put" is not an option - even if we're in a room with 8'' of concrete walls all around in our basement. Bummer..I supposed I could go 16'' walls, but then it'd be 100R->50R->25R->12R->6R. Hmmm..much better, but a WHOLE lot more expensive.
