I'm ready to "push the button" on CBS. If they air the program with all its malicious inventions and overall tone, I'll delete CBS from my TV and VCR channel selections.
And I've let them know it.

The sale is a paper transaction. This is an effort to salvage the international distribution by HALLMARK (the family UNfriendly company)
Viacom owns CBS AND SHOWTIME.
http://www.viacom.com The sale is a fraud to fool people.
Simple solution, cancel showtime now.

I think it's interesting that CBS might go with Showtime, which doesn't have any affiliates...

Did we right wing wackos care about the scenes with Ron Reagan Jr. doing ballet? They could fill the two hours with that, as far as I am concerned.
Sell it, CBS, so I can watch CSI, please.

But that would lead to further cries that CBS had caved in to pressure from special interests. ...if one would so disparage accurate American history as a "special interest".

They are owned by the same corporation. No actual money needs to change hands. Its an Enron style money manuver.
It does NOT affect the Halmark Entertainment distribution deal.
To: Yaelle
It is not being "sold". Viacom owns BOTH cbs and showtime. It is just shuffling the chairs on the deck of the sinking titanic.

Simple solution, cancel showtime now. Never had it, never will. I hope it does go to Showtime.

Even this is bull*hit:
"Newsweek says everything was fine until a New York Times story last month detailed the complaints of conservatives."
The New York Times story detailed the lies and smears that were coming directly from the movie...and it was more than conservatives who complained.

I understand all of that. But I think the affiliates may be putting some heat on the network, which is something the net won't have to worry about with Showtime.

A posture change and replacement of the trash can with a commode would make the icon more accurate.

I'd be willing to put up with this Reagan movie if we could get a "truthful" movie about the Clintons. Willem Dafoe could play Hillary.

Best way for CBS, or Showtime, to salvage anything out of this would be to very publicly show the film --
being burned!BTW, am I the only one who thinks that Tom Selleck would make a much better Reagan?

Willem Dafoe could play Hillary. LOL. Only if he does it in full Nosferatu gear.
