I find it awfully discouraging that the articles I posted that were hosted by stevequayle.com, which originated from viable news and various other sources, were pulled and that the only reason given for their exclusion was that, and I quote, "I don't think we want stevequayle.com here".

Now, Geeky, my son, momma has always told you that size doesn't matter & it is not always good to show off your assets.-
but instead be modest......
But mommy too has been spanked for crossing various boundaries thinking on occasion it fun to go overbaord..
sigh, the family curse?

I grew up in the Northshore Chicagoland area In Mark Kirk's district, no doubt. He is probably considered a conservative GOP congressman by those of your stripe.

"Nothin like 'breakin the ice', eh?" Oh, I'll say he broke it! LOL! I sure wouldn't have taken on a mod my first day on FR....or first year for that matter.
Welcome to FR FIC. Pay no mind to those who fancy themselves at the top of the pecking order. We just humor them. It makes them feel special.

"To the BArbara Streisand types your a mental whacko." When Barbra Striesand registers a discernible IQ, then I will consider her silly opinions.
"Do you realize liberal democrats think your a nut job."
They think that anyone who says things that go over their heads is a nutjob. They don't get it, so the person who said it must be an idiot.

We are not forbidden from posting articles from the LA Times and Washington Post (and their subsidiaries), it is just that we cannot post the entire article and must excerpt. Many of these sites require that you register to view the entire article, so I, for, one do not bother with them. Their loss.
We can no longer post from the Onion, because someone there got his panties in a knot over it, and we cannot post from Aztlan.com or Rense (I just learned of that one this past week). We also cannot post from the DU (and those were some of the most fun threads we used to have....I looked forward to those as much as to the ZOT threads). There are others, it's just that those are the only ones I can thing of right now.

"And is that Only political articles from liberal newspapers or articles from liberal newspapers prohibited period" The prohibition of posting entire articles for the LA Times and Washington post and their subsidiaries had nothing to do with barring liberal political articles. It was part of an agreement reached in a lawsuit involving copyright and free use, so now we have to excerpt from those sources and use links to the original sources. Most of us hate excerpting or registering with a site to view an article, so as a result there are less articles posted from those sources. Point is, it wasn't the doing of the owner in this case.

Just a suggestion, but if your problem with the fonts is your vision, why not adjust the settings on your computer so that YOU see the fonts larger, and nobody at FR whines because of the fonts?

Now wasn't that special? See, we really CAN all just get along. ROTFL!
FIC, you should thank the nice lead moderator. I don't think I ever saw that happen before.

"There should be a list as it's easy to make a mistake and post from forbidden one." I don't know that there is a list. There may be somewhere. Generally if you make that mistake, your post will be unceremoniously yanked with the message, "we don't want stuff from that site here." You're not likely to make that mistake again, well, unless you're like a few folks around here who like to live dangerously and provoke the mods out of some sense of indignation. Hint: the mods ALWAYS win at that game.

No, actually I was in Phil Crane's district.
To: Valentine_W
I was in Phil Crane's district From what I hear, he will not be challenged in the primary this time out, with the understanding that this will be his last run. If he should try to run again in '06 he will face a true conservative in a hard fought primary challenge.
I'll drink to that!
The '02 election saw me gerrymandered from Henry Hyde's district into Jan Schakowsky's.

Anyone who visits a new place and immediately starts making "demands", has got to be a few tools short of a normal toolbox, or, at the very least, oblivious to the minimal social graces.
Does anyone read Amy Vanderbilt any more?
