The Cedar fire is buring to the south of Julian. From 200 to 300 homes in outlying neighborhoods of Julian are destroyed and more were threatened as firefighters fought to protect the core of the historic mountain community.
Most of the homes in Harrison Park south of Julian were destroyed overnight and structures were reported on fire in the Kentwood area of the Pines neighborhood, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department.
