Interesting aside to your comment....we were told to leave the gas turned on because the gas company constantly checks and turns off a whole area where danger threatens. If you turn it off individually, they won't promise how soon you can be activated again. That was news to me, but I did as told.

Homes destroyed

According to County Supervisor Greg Cox's office this is the most recent count of homes and buildings destroyed in the fires:
Cedar 1,060 homes , 172 outbuildings .
Paradise 111 homes, 100 outbuildings.
There are currently 13 assessment teams across the county trying to compile the addresses of homes lost. Not all of the areas are currently accessible.
