Do you remember that lovely rock fence on the lower facing side of the mountain? It was after you came up the long, steep road. I think Christmas Village was around there.

I rarely took that way, except when Big Bear was on fire about six years ago.

Folks could go up to Sugarloaf if they are afraid.

I don't think the winds are forecast to switch back anytime soon.

Good.

evacuating some fire trucks from Julian because it seems SAFER now, and sending the majority to Palomar Mountain to help out there. Good news, it seems. Per Fox news 6

"More strike teams, tankers, and when possible, aircraft being mustered to Julian. We are making a stand at Julian"

At least 300 homes already burned in Julian. -- KNBC Channel 4.

Anyone know any wind dances to go with the rain dances?

the breach on hwy 18 was 2 miles wide at 5:10am

Current fire is fast moving between Running Springs, Arrowhead and green valley towards the high desert area.

I live in the Antelope Valley area, and the smoke is terrible, they are telling us to wear mask here at work whenever you go outside. We are getting smoke from both sides....!

Just emailed an old friend in Big Bear. They never had cable when I was there, but we'll see. If she gets an email off to me, I'll let everyone know what she knows.

Santa's Village was around there! That area is so absolutely beautiful that I cannot even fathom this. If the wind stays steady the fire will move north into the High Desert.
