It was the cedar fire. I think they stated that these two fires were only a couple miles apart now

That must be related to what I heard half an hour ago... evacuate units at running springs, bug 'em out, it's over, they basically retreated

Apple Valley is being evacuated to. Evacuations are mandatory!

There are evacuees from Big Bear there - where do they go now?

scanner: a foot chase is underway to catch a guy they saw carrying "a plastic bottle".

No wonder they are telling people to evacuate down Hwy 38 instead of the other way through Hesperia. That is so hard to believe.

You're welcome. This fire scares the heck out of me. Most of my family lives in SoCal.

Talked to my sister in Irvine yesterday. She said the sky has been yellow for four days. Ashes are dropping everywhere. But they are in no danger. Same as my sister and mother in Costa Mesa. Same as my brother in Mission Viejo. But another brother in Lake Elsinore might be in trouble from the Fallbrook/Camp Pendleton fire *if* it heads northeast.

I was on the phone to my neighbor who watches out for my house and missed that part of the news. He was assuring me that everything was okay as the fire was going the other way and no danger! I should have realized that meant the fires in the mountains were in big trouble.

Knew that someone had to be setting more of these fires -- it is impossible for fires to be showing up where they are. Last night someone was driving I-10 out to Indio starting fires. Hope they catch the guy and throw him in the fire!
