Descanso fire headed toward Julian. Been backburning throughout the night to use up the fuel. Guess we'll see if it's going to work.

Reporter mentioning OSHA getting after the fire fighters for working too many hours. Violating the rules. LOL What a hoot.

It does look, though, as though they've held the line along 18--if this is accurate.

Scanner: some engines moving to an elementary school in Running Springs. "At your pleasure if you want to send another unit up here if we're going to EVAC soon." ??

My friends (married couple) are both San Diego firefighters. I have been trying to imagine what they must be going through, as I know they are assigned to separate areas, and that neither is near their own neighborhood... The Cedar fire was within 1 1/2 miles of their house on Monday... I can almost feel their pain! Separated and worrying about each other and their home, exhausted, etc... wish I could be there to do something, and hope and pray they are alright. I can only imagine my worries deca-tuplified (can that be a word?) if they were my children! Hang in there, Mom, and keep up the good work.

I guess what I'm saying is that for the last two days we haven't seen it make a serious run on Lake Arrowhead? True, or have you seen anything else?

The firefighters are setting a backburn near Julian. The latest report was that the fire was flanking Julian to the south, and heading east.

Are you sure he said Pine Valley and not Pine Hills? Two very different areas.
