"With todays costs, this might be the worst.
If you convert 1906 costs to todays dollar values, might be a different story.
And this isn't over yet..."
do consider worst to be in terms of money or in terms of live lost ?

Odd winds in the desert tonight coming from the northeast again?? If that's happening up on top of the mountain it would blow the fire that passed through on the eastern edge of Arrowhead back again. I hope not.

I am wondering if that little restaruant on Lake Cuyamaca is still standing...plus there is that biker type hangout right across from the lake that advertises the 99 cent margaritas.

We sure need a break with these winds. Fritz reported showers Friday night into Saturday with possible snow flurries above 5000', can you believe that? It would be a gift from the heavens!!

Sprinkling? You know....it very well could be. It's felt like rain down here all afternoon. The clouds even looked, towards the area of the fire, like it maybe MAYBE could rain a tad.

Almost time for the 10/30 thread to start up. Let's hope that tomorrow's thread is the last major thread on these fires. Damn, this has been an awful week here in CA.
I am off to bed to try to manage a little sleep. Keep up the praying everybody, and take care.

You're not thinking of the biker hangout by Lake Cachuma, near Santa Barbara/Solvang are you?
:)
I don't know the Cuyacama area, but your above sure rang a bell regarding our trips to the Santa Ynez Valley
