Question: are lawsuits that are settled, either by jury decision or closed door bargaining between parties, ever revisited?
If information comes to light thru further investigation, and the awarded party was found to have been wrongfully awarded payment due to fraudulent testimony, inept investigation, or inferior representation on the part of the defendent's counsel, can this be changed?

"are lawsuits that are settled, either by jury decision or closed door bargaining between parties, ever revisited?"I've been wondering that, too; are the members of the jury or the parties to it angry at this turn of events? They are local -- can they still be a factor in this?
This case went to trial rather than being settled -- is that significant in this case; was the outcome a surprise? would be an interesting interview...

I don't know but that's a good question. I don't know what the ramifications would be in this particular case, since I believe the insurance company that paid the award has since gone out of business. But it would be interesting to know what sort of repercussions it would have on MS. What a convoluted case!

Once it is discovered that an award is based on false testimony, the payer is now the injured party. An injured party can certainly sue for perjury and damages to reclaim damages.
