Nah, I am in Orange County. The air was filthy on Sunday however, when the Santa Ana condition winds carried the smoke to the coast from the fires around Rancho Cucamonga. Driving home from the Palm Springs area today however, the sun was a deep red color from the smoke.

I might add that the big change is that the prevailing winds have returned to normal, so the fires now are tending to move to the east rather than to the southwest. That is why the fire that skirted Lake Arrowhead is now moving east towards Big Bear. The most threatened homes are those on top of a steep slope, and there are a fair number of them built there for the city light views of the San Bernadino area.

PKM....I used to live in Yucaipa (my nephew used to say MEcaipa, no YOUcaipa....MEcaipa - well you can see how that kept going around). Anyway, I lived up on Holmes St on the north side of town right before going into Wildwood Canyon. Now I'm in North Carolina, but missing "home" so much this week.....
.
Are you still in Yucaipa?? Or have you moved?? I heard there's a fire by the Ranger Station on Bryant, but thats about all I've heard regarding Yucaipa....Your info would be helpful.....Thanks....SMALL world, eh??
