A friend of mine lost his business office and yard. It was on Wildcat Cyn. Rd. at the 3.5 mile marker, about a mile above Muth Valley Rd. He built the building twenty or so years ago and now it's gone...along with computers, furnishings, vehicles, and tens of thousands of dollars in equipment. He employs around 40 people who may all be out of work. Sad.

I don't know what is more sad, all these photos and stories of loss during these fires, or your pimping for Radio FR on this thread.

no problem...it has struck me just the last few minutes..that this whole experience has seemed surreal...ya know kinda of like having a Salvador Dali kinda day...ya know? Everything has just shifted and [pardon the pun]become liquidy/melty like his painting of time. I hear the news in the background on KFI...and read the posts and view the tvgrab pics...and think to myself..can this really be happening...almost but not quite the same disbelief as 9-11. Like watching some made for TV movie..that seems not to end...just more of the same horror after coming back to the TV after a commerical break. The movie that never ends...and a bad movie at that.

Paul usually likes to look like he's part of the action during these disasters. I'm surprised he hasn't donned a Firefighter's jacket and helmet.

The onshore breeze (wind) forecast again for tomorrow is the worst news of all for the mountain communities of Arrowhead and Big Bear because it will blow the fire right up the mountain. The only thing that would help all of this is rain......and I'm afraid they have not forecast that.

And that's why the Simi fire has blown back towards Stevenson Ranch tonight. And that is why the the fires have turned towards Julian.

Called my daughter tonight in Maine to tell her what was happening as she and her husband just left Lakeside for Brunswick, Maine, the middle of September. She could not believe what was happening but couldn't give her a lot of details because I didn't have them of that area.
