Roger says Duke said C130's may get out tonight - or crack of dawn at the latest to SD county fires.
Now, a guy from Cal dept of emergency services (DallasJones?)says they will be prioritized , may have to go to Arrowhead, Big Bear. Roger says that's not what Duke told me.

The Yucaipa Valley has always seemed so safe -- just never thought of the fire threat being near -- always up in the mountains!

there were spot fires in 7 oaks and angelus oaks last night....the fire has been burning north and east...
the media has been making a huge deal about it burning east along 18.....
it is also burning north of lake arrowhead.....eastward

If I don't respond to some of your posts, please don't take offense.....I'm trying to read them, respond as I can, and post info from CHP site, mostly......but I'm trying to respond as best I can.....I read them all. well...technically it still is....don't have any further updates on the highland fire area. if that has been knocked down..then all is OK...

fire was nowhere near Big Bear Dam last night...

Heard earlier that the fire along Hwy 18 was topping and jumping from tree top to tree top in a firestorm on Channel 4, but didn't hear any confirmation of that but sounds like that is exactly what happened.
