Lake Arrowhead area now being shown. Firefighters lost control of the controlled burn along HWY 18 and it jumped the road.

Speechless.

Thanks for the report. Yucaipa didn't seem too busy to me today and I think that's because most of them can't see what's happening behind Crafton hills. I will say, though, that from the east side of Oak Glen, the fire didn't look too vigourous down in Mill Creek. Did you see that today?

Help! Anyone have details on North Peak damage? Heck of a note to think you've lost a second home. Sorry for sounding strident, but any info beyond the loss of Wally's and Franz's restaurant would be appreciated. Thanks

Just got off the phone. Good news. They got out of Julian this morning. His nephew got them out, and drove them to a safer section of San Diego. Phones are dead there though, including his cell, and he got ahold of them now. Hopefully they will have a house to get back to in the next couple days.

Crest, Pine Valley, Julian, Pine Hills, fire burning right up to Julian. Reporting from KOGO.

Continuing to urge people to evacuate all along the way

This is San Diego County - east county area.

Such devastation, just unbelieavable

Hopefully this will wake up people and alert them to the evils of "extreme" environmentalism.

from socalfiregroup....

I was up at Oat Mtn a couple of hours ago to get a generator going
again. The fire was still to the northwest about a mile or so, but a
couple of dozers came from the west along the ridge road and began a
fire break at the Pinnacle Towers (old MobileComm) building just east of
the old Nike site and headed down the ridge to the south. The whole
south side of Oat Mtn is a gas and oil field; the pumps are stopped now
due to no power, but there are miles of pipes above the ground and many
oil tanks. It could get interesting...
